ANY PICTURES FROM THE MOPAR NATIONALS

I was only there Saturday, the parking area outside of the swap meet was nearly full by the time I got there.. seemed pretty busy to me? The biggest difference I noticed was the midway vendors, that used to have several vendors set up but this year it was a ghost town, swap meet was still pretty big from my perspective. It was a good show and unlike Carlisle.. there's RACIN!!

Yes, Saturday was much busier than Friday, both with spectators and available parking spots. Yes, still things to see and do there, just not what it once was at all. Even with the decline of recent years, I intend to continue going for a few more years while I still can. Wish there was still some decent evening cruising though, Brice Road used to be as much fun or more so than the day show itself. Its sad really, whats happened to the Nats compared to 15-20 years ago. :(

Here's some pics from Saturday.

It was full except the midway. People were having a terrible time finding places to pit. The staging lanes were empty because it had been raining. I didn't get my 1st rime trial till almost 1140a. I run pro and we are always the first ones out.
Cars weren't brought out to the show area for the same reasons

I was only there Saturday, of course Friday would never be as busy, especially with rain. But don't know if you just want to rag on the current Nats, or what, but I haven't seen, in the last 15yrs at least, as many SPECTATORS at this event, as I saw on Saturday.

You may or may not be right, I didn't count spectators and you probably didn't either so its subjective as to how many were there. As I tried to say, a smaller area will seem much more crowded with fewer actual people than a larger area. You have an opinion, and I have an opinion, we are both entitled to that and of course you know what opinions are like, and everyone has one.

Oh, and years ago Friday used to be as busy or busier than this years Saturday turnout was. IMHO.

Is there anywhere that is the "cruise" spot in the evening anymore? I can remember Ohio police helicopters at the RedRoof Inn on Brice on a Saturday night with spot lights shining on tire smoke, and people EVERYWHERE. Looked like a riot zone. But man what a blast it used to be.

Heck we used to get there on Thursday. Brice road would be packed.

I can't believe no one has even mentioned the Mopar Nationals yet this weekend.

It's kind of weird, you posted this in "Racers Hangout" and so far it looks there are only two pictures of race cars.
As for the admission fees, that seemed to be the topic of conversation in the pits. It also appeared as though no two people paid the same amount and I'm not talking about those that let last years entry carry over. I prepaid for this year but the poor young lady at the gate asked me if I'd hold on a second because they had a whole new process this year. Who knows?

From a fiberglass vendors viewpoint, The weatherman forecast rain for the entire event. That will kill any race, or show. Friday it rained twice during the event and I sold about half as what I usually sell. Saturday, was a different story and I sold more than any other year and the crowd was huge. Sunday was a bad weather day also and we packed up at noon except the tents and chairs and bench raced with friends and future customers. Yes, on the way out there were a few people wanting the cars to do beer burnouts like the old days at the U.S.Nationals. If we would have had better weather, i am sure we would have had more racers, more vendors, and more show cars. A word to you vendors, it's time that you should have "Young Guns Discounts". I have had them for the last 15 years and it works.
