I found an interesting car for sale

And it's a shame that its supposedly only been driven 1,000 miles in 18 years.

What's this "body side lacquer paint stripe" & "V7W paint stripe code?

Bottom line is that the car is what it is & considering it's a clone with a Hemi under the hood, the price doesn't seem too outrageous today.

My 71 Challenger, that was a JH23 car, came from the factory with white side stripes without the R/T lettering. The code for the stripes was V6W, on both fender tag and broadcast sheet. My reference book shows V9W, as the code for the white stripes with the R/T lettering. I don’t know what V7 is.. It may have been a body side pin stripe.

Anyone besides me questioning the authenticity of the window sticker?

(This is why you don't fudge documents or fender tags. Once one of the items becomes suspect ALL of the items, and the owner, become suspect.)

If it was original , would have the Date - Assembly plant code and transport routing zone for shipment to the dealership on the bottom of the page , in the box left of Total

This window sticker is blank

is your car a convertible? that's the difference here,

The description of the A62-Rallye Dash is also inaccurate.

well, he’s referring to the V6X code, which for a non R/T car would be the solid stripes with no R/T lettering. Same JH prefix, I don’t think it matters if it’s a convertible or hardtop, it’s a non-R/T stripe.

Convertible, coupe or hardtop makes no difference. Same stripes and codes apply. I see the Lembeck, unrestored 71 Hemi Challenger (that sold this year at Mecum) has a V6X stripe code. That tells me the V6 stripes had R/T lettering on JS cars and no R/T lettering on JH cars.

My car was also GB5, as you can see from its fender tag. I say was, as I no longer own it. Second owner, who I bought it from, had the exterior repainted (not the original color, but Specter Metallic Blue) and changed the stripes to black. They probably didn’t have a stripe kit back in 84 when it was painted, the newly painted stripes were kinda wavy and too thick. I remember getting comments like “whoever painted your stripes must’ve been drunk..”.

Remnants of the original white stripes were still on the inside edges of the car when I had it.

I’m quite sure now that V7 is an accent pin stripe.
