Seriously look at the culture that is fed to youth today. It is urban take over.. Virtually all younger people talk hip hop act hip hop listening to hip hop been spoon fed it since kindergarten. When was the last time you pulled up next to a younger person in their car and it wasn't playing rap, strong strong rap. My kid listens to some hip hop when im not around, but she also knows the words to much of skynyrd,journey,metallica,alot of country. As it has been said before where the hell is my country that i grew up with. Think about this virtually every show and commercial portray the white guy as the moron, to either the woman or the black guy. I see this all the time to the point i don't watch tv anymore. Everybody love Raymond moron to his wife compared to father knows best, my three sons. On and on. Now we are expected to just accept everything as normal same sex everything it all ok now. Sorry i like songs singing about something besides call my girl a bitch,using nigger constantly towards each other how mut munny i gots.

You need to find some where else to live. I can not say it doesn't happen here but its not normal.
 
My kid went to a school where they still have bring your tractor to school days. It isn't the area its the culture
 
Try this:
Remember a time when you were very happy - could be youth, high school, 8th grade, college age, and try living and doing the types of things you were doing then. If it was riding a bmx bike, ride your bike; if it was playing an instrument open up the dusty case or borrow a guitar for a week and reconnect to your past. And there is never anything wrong with getting professional help because it can really change the trajectory of your life in a positive way. I'm 51 going on 35, play lead guitar and sing in 2 bands and went to a car show yesterday with my woman and 2 children. I am an M.D.; board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and never give anyone advice I wouldn't follow myself. Living a balanced and healthy life is very important. Avoiding bad habits and isolation is also equally important.
 
I can only offer prayers for you, Curt, and maybe a suggestion. Try something new, something you’ve never done before, something that requires you to test your knowledge and commitment, something to keep your mind busy. I don’t know what that would be, but in your area there may be a variety of different options. Take a class at a community college, join a bowling league, anything to challenge your mind, body and soul. You may find new friends, a new outlook on things, a new skill, who knows what.

I saw something on a show called BBQ With Franklin, it was a Beef 101 class, where you learn all about the different sections of a cow, learn where all the different cuts come from, and how to butcher a cow. Then, you do it right in class. The show BBQ with Franklin is a good source of knowledge about smoking meats and such, and it got me thinking that would be a fun thing to learn for myself. Just something completely different.
