Well.

Plans change when life throws you a curve ball.

But wife and i have decided we need to make a trip back to Ky and visit family instead.

I guess maybe Vegas for next year.

Yeah, maybe next year if they wise up and have it when it's not so frigg'n hot and the gates are open all day like they used to be. Do they have a mask mandate and are they checking for vaccination passports? Can't tell, you can't be too careful ya know!

Nevada outside,no mask. Inside mask, unless you are sitting. Can't catch covid if you sit down.
I had thought about going but had to choose several options.I think I will wait for 2022.
Too much stuff to sell at the swap meet.Need 3 full days.

I was planning on going to spectate, but if I had showed up at 8 am, and been told I couldn't get in till 5 pm.???!! It's gonna be a bunch hotter at 5pm than 8 am.I don't think I would be happy.
So, from 5pm till 9pm Saturday? Kinda doubt I will drive in from Arizona for that. We'll see.

First year I've gone in 5-6 years & everyone is bailing.... Well, I have a very good reason to be there so I'll be there... I agree about the not letting people in at 0800 sucks... 1700 is nuts... And yes in March or April is better but Covid ruled that out...

Tough year. Not MATS fault. Only date and time the track would give him for 2021.
It is what it is. Best wishes for all of us in 2022.

Not opening the gates for show and spectators so late in the day will hurt it.

Down to 101 by the eleventh down from 109 Jesus Chrysler.

Agree. My place in Arizona is 109 right now, and where I'm at in california it's 100°.
I was actually thinking about going to the Orleans show In the morning, then mats in the afternoon..... till I saw the kind of cars at the Orleans, and the ticket price. I think I'll pass.

Clear and 89 my carport now San Jose. May stay here til October. Humidity 26%. Light breeze.

LOL....Summer is from March 30 until December 1st......I can't take it any longer!

Only 111* here in Southern Utah but it's supposed to really get hot this coming week. NWS, we are under extreme heat warning. We're higher than Vegas so you can count on it being super hot there. BTW the hottest time of the day is usually around 5PM.

A car show and swap that opens to the public at 4:00 ? What is the deal with that? That makes no sense at all.

I'm out until they can straighten out their event timing and venue.

I'm gonna try this one more time... Just attempted to post & the whole post just disappeared...

As expected the turnout was pretty light but there were some outstanding cars in the show area as well as in the special display area...

If you like Barn finds Mopar 5150 brought out an incredible collection of cars, They had a big tent to display under & quite a few other folks displayed their barn finds under & around the tent as well...

But for me a big highlight was The barn find Hemi Challenger & the barn find 440-6 Coronet R/T taking a pass down the drag strip... They spun more than they accelerated but it was an absolute blast from the past!!

But the reason I couldn't miss MATS this year is because a good friend of mine Bill Adams had his project car secretly "appropriated" by a group led by Courtney Hanson, they fully restored the car and the MATS show was picked as the time & place to spring the surprise....

Oh, I forgot to mention Bill's project is the only 69 Roadrunner Convertible originally paint "Petty Blue" by Chrysler...
