White Lettering In or Out?

The wheels decide how I mount the tires to me. On my Rallye wheels and Road Wheels I go RWL out. On my Cragars Wheels, Weld Wheels and Steelies, I go black walls out. On my New Yorker I went with white walls out.

I got the new tires installed. My tire shop first put the black out and did not look good so he installed white out. By the way, 245/60/15 fit good on the front with no rubbing issues on a 15x8 with 4 1/2 backspace.

Just an FYI, The Mickey Thompson Sportsman ST tire is also made by the same company as Coopers. The Mickey Thompson is also period correct as they were the first DOT street approved " Indy" low profile tires. Firestone and Goodyear also made low profile tires but they were road race tires that guys used on the streets, available in the late sixties and were not street legal. Paper thin sidewalls with painted on lettering.

I really like the sportsman st tire. I took a gamble when putting tires on my 68 coronet, liked them so much I put them on my 70 swinger!

I have BFG RWL on my Charger, with stock 14" wheels and wheelcovers. I suspect when I upgrade to front disc brakes and 15" wheels (probably Mag500s), I'll go redlines. I just like the look.
