I broke on of the brass pins off the gauge /dash circuit board. Big hands ; small space issue. Can this pin (or suitable replacement) be soldered back in place? Seems that several people have had problems with replacement boards.
Thanks.

It may help if you let us know what year and model the car is.

I broke a couple off and soldered them back on. Lightly sand both points of contact, flux it, use your pointy tip.

If your near a model airplane/train shop some sell 1/16" brass rod. Cut short and solder both on. Might want tin tin them first so some solder is on it, flows better.

Thanks so much for the quick replies. I really appreciate all the help I've found here. The car is a '69 Satellite Sport. Pic is hopefully attached.

I took a small drillbit and drilled a small hole into the board inserted a nail that was just as long as the pin. Slid the broken pin over the nail then soldered both sides. Put tape over the flat side just to be safe.

If you can find a nice board replace it. If it's out do it right.

I've used small brass screws. Insert the screw though the back side, place the pin on top of screw and thread it on. Then I solder the pin in place. That way you have the screw and solder holding the pin in place. Make sure you use electrical solder too

That looks like a simple fix. Tin the board first but don't fill the hole! Heat the pin up and wipe off the old solder with a damp tissue so you're working with clean solder. Insert the pin and solder it. Don't spend to much time with the soldering iron on there or the foil will detach from the board and then you're screwed.

I went to Bristol this evening to visit my daughter as her husband is my solder guy. He noticed the burn at the bottom and other one was hidden by limiter. Looks like I'm a little too rough on the equipment. A new board is in my future. Thanks to each of you for your help.
