Hey guys I’ve had this trans for a bit and was curious what it came from and if it’s still around. I’d be willing to reunite to the original car only as it’s very close to mine, date and part number wise.

Looks aluminum so I'm guessing and Auto? But a 1970 727 for a Hemi or 440/6 car I'm guessing, would need the casting/part number for better identification.

It is a 1970 Hp torque flite. I’m willing to help it find it’s mate, I will swap for another like it date and part number wise with comparable rebuild as this is ready to go. Casting dates are 2 qtr. of 69 if not mistaken I would have to double check. I was curious if it was a bee ,bird or an R/T it came from? I was thinking maybe the VIN would spark a fire somewhere. It’s always nice to reconnect them imo.

Not sure how you determine it’s an HP transmission or not, in fact over never heard of anyone describing a transmission as HP, regardless all I get out of that is that it is a 1970 Lynch Road Transmission for car serial number ending in 152541. Could be out of anything, no?

It should have a part number or assembly number stamped on the housing (see below for an example). That will help tell you the application.

You can do some process of elimination and try and bracket the VIN but it may be impossible to know exactly what it came in.
70 Lynch Road only built B bodies so that's at least a place to start.
For example, both the Road Runner and GTX could have a Hemi or 440-6 so if the application is for the HD tranny, that helps but doesn't;t tell us which model it came in.
If it went behind a 383-2bbl, that eliminates some models.
VIN 152396, slightly before the VIN is question, goes to a R* car with an SPD of A27. If you can find a VIN just on the other side, say something like 152702, and it too is an R* car with an SPD if A27, that tells you the tranny came in an R* based car.
