512 stroker with duel plane intake lean right side bank?

yes you should hear the idle change

Not always... the leak may be on the bottom of the port.
I had an undetectable leak on the 360 in my Barracuda . Finally bought a set of embossed Edelbrock gaskets and that fixed the leak. Idle changed and car ran much better.

Those plugs are both kind of lean, but to my eye they are close. I would richen the mixture some and jet up, then do WOT runs, stop and pull plugs.

I run almost the same dyno numbers with ported holley street dominator and trick flow 240 and comp xs290s 252/260 at .050. It's a pretty good solid flat tappet and I can pull 12" vacuum on a good day. The 5" vacuum bouncing is worrisome. You can use a timing light and go wire by wire to "freeze" the vacuum gauge dial and see which cylinder is causing issues. But if all your plugs look like that then I wouldn't suspect anything major other than tuning.

And yes if you have 5" vacuum or less the power valve will have trouble. Maybe you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

I agree with the single plane intake on big cube motors. They make big torque on the bottom already and single plane carries it all the way out. I went with an eddie torker 1 on my 512 (440 based) and carry big torque numbers from just off idle all the way through the powerband.

I always felt the same until I decided to try the Indy dual plane intake on the 493 in my 63. I was told by Dwayne Porter it should work good on my eng since its a 99% street car and it has pretty good size ports so it flows pretty good for a dual plane. So I went with it and have been happy for over 10 years running it on my eng. Now I have never tried a single plane because not many will fit under my hood. Its hard to say if it would be faster with a single plane as my car weighs 3700 lbs without me in it so its pushing 3900 lbs with me. I use a Dynamic 9.5 converter and 4.30 gears with a 30" tire. Is the car to heavy for the single plane to be faster and does it have enough gear for the single plane to work better ? Only one way to find out. I will say we did a comparison on my sons 400 Dart. His Dart weighs over 3600 lbs with him in the car. Its a 400 with Eddy RPM heads and the Eddy RPM intake and 3.91 gears it ran 11.55 @ 116. When we put the Holley Street Dominator SP on the car it ran a best of 11.59 @ 117 mph. You could see on the timeslip the 60 and 1/8 were better and even though the DP had less MPH it had the better et because its 60 and 1/8 were so good. I think with more gear the SP may have been faster. Now on my 63 my plugs all look the same all the time as I am very happy with that DP intake. As for my car I feel its right on the line as to if it will et better with a SP ? Ron

That sounds like a pretty bad A$$ set up!! With 4:30's the only difference i think you would see is on the slip that thing has to pin you to the seat when it hooks!! My app is strictly street and am currently running 3:55's in an 8 3/4 with street tires. so with a 4 speed it doesn't hook up till i let it. Thinking of stepping up to the Dana this winter and going with 3:23"s Have the torque to pull them and with the additional beef of the dana and some street slicks will not be afraid to launch a little harder if I am hooking good.. Another big reason I went with the single plane is the EFI setup..

I agree that the dual works great on your car, it’s not a fair comparison though cause that’s a big intake designed for a big engine. It’s quite a bit larger than a rpm.

I have a heavily ported dual plane six pack in my car at the moment. It’s not nearly as even distribution wise as the single planes under cruise. Sure looks cool though! Et wise was identical to my ported TM6. You can’t tell the time slips apart. Then I ran a MW sized Indy single on it with a dominator and would flat out run everything. Even on my heavy car. I dont have any ET slips for it though.
