DOGS

Sorry to hear about that Uli @Hey-O

these lil' furr children make US better people

after Lord Budnicks died I went almost 6 months
Buddy sick #1 5-9-2014.JPG

then my favorite uncle died, I needed something
my dad said go get a dog you need a dog
I got another rescue, to foster Bubba, Lab Pointer mix

Bubba & Elvis 7-26-2015.JPG

he got a great forever home, while I had him
I got my Elvis as a 7-8, week old pup
I think I'm just supposed to have a dog or dogs...

I swore after the Lord Budnicks was gone 'never again'
I didn't want the hurt of them leaving or dying...
I didn't want to be hampered or have to reschedule stuff
around my dog/s ever again...

But my heart softened,
I helped a dog & then got another Buddy/Elvis
I still take in fosters too, most don't stay long

I get labs (or lab mixes) usually, they know I'm a good source
they find homes very quickly...
I sort of think it was my calling...

I learned 'never say never'

This is my little buddy Elvis, he ran away from my neighbor’s house and has been here every since. So it is true that they pick you.

This one got me and that's why I bring this up. I don't want this to be about poor me, but, I'd like to know how people feel about this subject. My son pasted away in 2009, I'm never going to get over it, but, you learn to live with it. I mention it for this reason and this reason only. With all this about our dogs, I'd like to know what do you all believe happens after a death. Does it just stop or is there this place that all things that have past go too. I have a friend that's a dean of phycology at a local university. When I told her years ago, right after my son past away about being a better person because I have a place I need to go to be with all that have past, she said, right and just moved on as if I was crazy for even saying or thinking it or believe whatever gets you through the night. What do you think!

very sorry to hear that about your son.... I have no kids, so I cannot imagine the pain; I have a nephew who I was very tight with that died tragically in 2005, my poor sister lives with it every day....... I'd like to think there is something else, maybe something better, when our time here is over

I believe we work so hard to get to a finish line with only so many years to live a good life afterwards, there has to be something beside 50 to 80 or so years of life on this earth after all that hard work.

Hey- O
I am sorry to hear about your son. I would like to believe our souls move on and the lives of our loved ones that have passed live within us everyday!

This is personal, what I believe is there is a heaven or hell and an afterlife for each and every one of us if, I don't believe however that heaven is the contemplation if God, fir me heaven is the eternal day with all your beloved ones, Included your dogs, in the time you were the happiest in your life, for me heaven is an eternal time loop in the beach where I grow up with my beloved grandma all my dogs and my aunt Soco .

I so agree. Heaven for me would also being able to spend those special moments with those I love and loved the most, some people, some dogs, some horses. To be able to do it all over, and over, and over again.

I do believe in heaven and hell. I’m not a Bible quoting get everyone onboard person. I think how we live our lives will without a doubt lead us to our final destination. I don’t believe people can do bad things throughout their lives and on their deathbed ask forgiveness and all is well with the world. I’ve done my share of sinning, don’t get me wrong. I do know I treat everyone with respect until there’s a reason not to. My wife says I’m too trusting, well maybe I am. I can’t go through life without giving people the benefit of the doubt or a chance. I’ve been taken for money, falsely accused etc., but I still try and believe most people are good. I get up every morning, look in that mirror and reflect on the person I know I am and should be. I believe I will see everyone ( including my four legged friends) from my past when the time comes. I’m so sorry for the loss of your son, I couldn’t imagine the pain of that and hope I never have to. You’ll see him again! We’ll all eventually find out just what our lives and actions bring us in the end. I’m optimistic, I do believe. Take care!

Well I guess the dog bed is big enough for 3. The other dog bed somehow has drywall in it lol, life when your renovating I guess.

If you don't think he's spoiled . . .

He's sleeping on 3" of memory foam, and the fan is running to keep him cool . . .
He sure deserves it . . . my old man . . .
