Sorry for your loss, didn't realize it all happened so recently, and how. I think your idea about prevention/awareness is a great idea. Just saw that you are less than 25 miles from me.My friends and family thinks there's a story to be shared, was looking to do something in regards to suicicide prevention at car shows. My Dad unfortunately took his own life, never really was able to have closure due to the pandemic. I learned how to custom paint from former Indy Car driver Herm Johnson, who learned from John Kosmoski "House of Kolor" founder. Herm finished 8th and 9th in the 500. I used to paint Indy and NASCAR helmets for several years then moved on to custom Harley's.
Thank you for the kind words! Only regret is that I didn't do this sooner, it would have been amazing to drop this off at his house and hand him the keys. Maybe would have changed things for him, but just the same I know he's with me. Having the support from this amazing group on this forum/sharing his story and car has been very healing! Glad every enjoys seeing a throw-back tribute to the late sixties early 70's. Can't wait till spring and hit some shows and enjoy the view of the hood from behind the wheel. You should be incredibly proud of yourself. Your dad is with you every step of the way and is forever proud of your accomplishment. The car looks amazing.
Here's the motor work he did to his 383 back in 69 at the garage he worked at in high school. I'd really like to replicate my 383 like that next!View attachment 1202955
