What would be your Top 10 music playlist as you were cruising in your mopar during the 60s and 70s? I was born in the 80s while some of you were lucky enough to be driving our B Bodies during the era in which they were made.

So, what was your top 10 songs you were listening to in your mopar back then? Hope this brings back some good memories and others can add songs they like/forgot about as well!

All the stuff by CCR in the late '60s, early '70s. Played it on the 8 track in my first GTX. "Looking Out My Back Door" topped the charts the month I drove a big block Mopar for the first time.

From my era, there is no such thing as TOP ten songs... you'd have to make it TOP MILLION songs. The golden age: late 50's to mid 80's.

Too many to list. From Aerosmith to ZZ Top including country. I’ve always liked a big variety of music. I can’t take metal, punk or rap. The Beach Boys are the first disc in the changer followed by classic rock and country in the car. My kids thank me for the variety of music they listen to. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for a lot of what they listen to.

From the '60s, anything Del Shannon did.
Favorites, any era, Highway Star, Deep Purple... Let It Roll, Little Feat.

Such great music back then, where did all that talent come from, simply amazing times. what happened?

To many to list... Most of the stuff listed above is great.... I worry about Mr Cranium.....

I gotta add Steppenwolf...

Mr. Cranium has a good sense of humor. Much
needed given current events. Got me to chuckle
a little.

There were so many, and music for me at least,
is a powerful memory enhancer. It's hard to nail
down my exact favorites, but I can give you a list
of what was most commonly played.
As a kid growing up, first drivers' licence, taste
and effects of a first beer, first kiss from
awakening hormones, the feeling of absolute
freedom behind the wheel of anything that
accelerated under the command of my right foot,
I give you a list of ten songs that stand out the
most from those impressionable years.
1. Different Drum
2. Long, long time
3. Stairway to heaven
4. Hotel California
5. Out my back door
6. Take it easy
7. American pie
8. The night they drove old dixie down
9. Maggie Mae
10. Sound of silence
You do realize your request will summon
memories as varied as the different makes
and models of the manufacturer in question.
I could easily add twenty more to the list.
Honorable mentions include:
Build me up buttercup
Rocket man
Honey
My name is sue
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Although these were some of the most played
songs of "my time", many Will remember
differently.

Just a bit outside of the original question, but when my '70 GTX was my daily driver in the early '80s, I listened to a lot of Hendrix, Black Sabbath, and all kinds of other great music from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Come to think of it, I'm still listening to and enjoying the same music today.

Monster is one of my favorite songs. Listen closely to the lyrics. Timely then, timely now.
