Well I got a new project, and it’s a Ford.

This should be a fun restoration, I’m really looking forward to getting it in the garage. Grandpa bought this one new in 1954.

Those were neat, buddy of mine had one he restored nicely. His nephew is into tractors too taking it to shows. A lot of guys are as into them like old car guys. Good luck with your resto.

That's neato that is was your Gramp's. Have fun!

Looks like a good project.

I have gotten a few parts for restorations from this place in the link. We have a few other brands that my grandpa bought new, dating back to '36. Neighbor had a jubilee when I was a youngster...and I thought it was pretty neat. I can still picture him driving it with his fishing pole on the fender. Always loved the hood ornament on those.

Very cool...I have an old 9N that was the wife's fathers...It looks to be in the same shape as yours.

I have a 53 Golden Jubilee. My father got it when I was justa kid maybe 2. It was repainted just before he got it & it was our family tractor since then. I did a cosmetic resto about 10 yrs ago. The NAAs were a very good tractor in their time & still perform well for light duty work today if they were taken car of.
Good luck & have fun!
Keep us posted on the progress!

thats cool hope :thumbsup:it gos easy for you.

I have a nice old Ford 9N, definitely like my tractors too! I used to hobby farm, ran a few head of cattle, chickens etc. Mainly to eat not as pets, delicious! 440"

That looks like it should be a fun project. Pops has a 1953 Jubilee, he loves it. He just took the mower off for the season. I had the privilege of learning how to rebuild the rear hydraulic system last winter after he got too ambitious doing a little maintenance. Good thing they're simple to work on and parts are pretty inexpensive. Good luck with your new project.

I have an 8N that I bought about 15 years ago, the best 2 improvements I ever made with it were;

Convert it to 12V (you keep the 6V starter which then spins fast)
Exchange the points for a Petronix electronic ignition system

My tractor sits all winter outside (under a roof) but every spring it starts right up and off mowing I go.

Bought a 46 if I recall 2n back in 94 for my dads garden and general chores around the place at my house. It ran okay, we rebuilt the engine, ran like a top. Went through it, painted it, used it til 2001 when I sold the place. Sold it to a friend of his and he loved it.

A Ford? You really don't need to use the "F" word? That will come later. In private.

Here's a pic of my 1953 Golden Jubilee shortly after I fixed it up. Doesn't look quite as pretty now because I have used it a lot since....

My dad grew up during the depression in Mississippi on a 280 acre farm. They plowed and took care of it with mules. He said the Ford dealer offered his dad the use of an 8n to use for nothing to try it out for the planting season. His father refused saying he didn’t need a tractor, the mules were fine. They were dirt poor but my dad said it was pure stubbornness. He was not a good man to his family.

Or to the mules....

Or to the mules....
Yes sir, you are correct! He actually was a very cruel man to his family. Put on a show around other people. I only met him 3 times. I will say, he was nice to us. Probably knew my father would have killed him, literally if he wasn’t. My dad was not a man to **** with, but he was the best dad to my sisters and myself and the best husband to my mom we could have ever hoped for! He definitely broke that abuse cycle.

Can't beat the family history! Any pics of Grampa and or you riding it?
