My car has Single Piston Floating Calipers up front. When I went to remove the calipers, I discovered the positioners and anti-rattle spring were missing from both calipers.

Service manual shows these parts installed. Do you guys have these “positioners” and the anti-rattle springs on your factory calipers? Where can the positioners be obtained from?

Karp’s, in CA, seems to be having trouble locating these positioners..

I have neither part on my setup. Seems to work fine. Switched to discs in 1982.

Don’t have either part on my pin type calipers. No rattles or squeaks.

I have them on my brakes. Noticed one was broke so I replaced the one. Made no difference to me either. I got them from Brewer's Performance. Search the part number/name in the pic.

The factory did away with the positioners in later years. Your pins look like the later, shorter ones that didn't use them. Either way, don't bother with them, in my opinion.

I got a repro set of parts from Jamie at Mega Parts if you want them.

Think I read in Mopar Action Dico Tech or Stop & Swap that they stop caliper from rattling.

Dadsbee, could your measure the length of your caliper pin bolts that you are using with the positioners? Like end of bolt to bottom of head, and the overall length of the entire bolt.

My old bolts are shorter. Karps is sending me bolts (with the calipers) they got with a rebuild kit that are longer in length than my old bolts. Their rebuild kit did not include the positioners. I’d like to compare your measurements with the new bolts that came in the rebuild kit.

Sorry, not pulling the Bird apart for that..

I got new pins and bushes, positioners and anti-rattle springs.
I said Mega Parts but thinking about it some of the parts may have come from Classic Industries.
However I was easily able to obtain the parts to fully rebuild the brake callipers with piston/seal parts and all the hardware.
