I've got a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. Running a 440 @ roughly 600-650 HP. Car weighs 3500 with me in it. Caltrac suspension, leaving off of a transbrake on 28 tall by 10.5 Hoosier drag slicks. Car runs 6.70's on a good day in the 1/8 with 1.42 60 ft. Im running the shocks that came with the Calvert track suspension in the front and back and I'm borderline on having consistent 60ft's on a good day but when it's hot the car is spinning bad...just curious if anyone on here has suggestions on a different brand shock that could help my issue

I have never heard a bad word about Viking double adjustables. Moderately priced compared to others, owners and tech very knowledgeable and experienced.
Btw, 1.42 for 6.70s is pretty good, id be happy with that. Im guessing it isnt consistently that good, thats why you're asking.

A video of it launching would be a huge help.....

I haven't dialed them in since they were installed, but on Viking's recommendation for my 70 440 6bbl 3 pedal 3,800# Roadrunner w/Assassin Traction bars and Calvert split mono leaf springs...
I'm using their Warrior XS triple adjustable shocks.

Which shocks do you have now? If I recall the Caltracs use the "Rancho" style adjustable rear shocks, have you tried different settings?
Some CalTrac folks have reported some difficulty getting the adjustment just right. Years ago my buddy switched to the CalTracs and spent a while getting the adjustment right for his car to get consistency.

I have the caltrack shocks on it...they are single adjustables....ive.got them set 2 clicks back from all the way tight....the front shocks are also cal tracks with no adjustment...I have a video of it launching but I have no idea how to get it uploaded in this forum...if says it's too large

Can you load it on YouTube instead and then post the link here?

Correct...the car varied between 6 hundredths this past weekend on a hot track...on a good day with the weather it stays the same all day long....Ive just heard that the caltrack shocks are kind of simple and not the best so im just looking for a better combo...Im not looking to do wheelies or have faster short times...just want it to do the same thing every time

I'm running the basic double adjustable Vikings on all 4 corners and have no complaints at all. Even with WAY too heavy of a rear spring it's hooking. However I'm running ladder bars not Cal-Tracs.

We ran Cal-Tracs for years and never could get them to work. I wish I would of had the double adjustable shocks back then.

1.42 60ft is pretty good for that ET. Before looking at parts replacement get some good close up 3/4 angle video to see what the car is actually doing. I chased my tail with inconsistent 60 ft. It ended up being a carb issue.

I have ran the Rancho/Calverts on the #9 (stiffest) setting and I was at the limit. They did a 1.36 60 ft for me. I upgraded to Viking Crusader double adjustables and they work great but now I need to work on slowing the front. It's topping out too fast and causing the rear tire to unload. Fronts are at 90/10 now and really need to be at 70/30. ...or I need to spend way more money and put Vikings on the front, too. Double adjustable shocks are awesome but take some time to get dialed.

What are your rear shocks set at and what time are you running? Bottom hole? I’m going to the track tomorrow with new Vikings all the way around and am guessing on a base setting.. going 13 compression 3 rebound front and rear to start

Sorry to ask, but there is a "setting reference" that came with my 2 different pairs of Viking shocks, did you check yours?

Yes I have AJ rears and AK fronts.. but I wanted to know his rear setting since he has a 1.3 60’ and a dodge 330 ( similar) and should be low 9’s.. my first time taking them to the track.

 and  "low 9s"
I was working backwards anyway in posting my reply...I only read the one post where you were asking about the base setting, then reviewed the whole thread.
Love the early to mid Mopar B-Bodies, good luck!
