Count Your Blessings

Prayers being sent!! I'm sending that small piece of God that looks over me and mine to you, so I know things will work out.

Prayers sent for all involved.
I firmly believe in and of the power of prayer. Just that simple.
I Believe, God Almighty does not place heartache or burdens upon us...He gives us the strength to deal with adversities.

When does all the chit many of us complain about suddenly become unimportant? I’d say when one of your kids is diagnosed with cancer. For so many years I could count our blessings and I was usually guilty of not counting them enough. When I would remember to do so, it always became obvious we had been very fortunate, until last week. My guess is a lot of us have much to be thankful for, despite all the crap we don't like swirling about.

Never thought this would happen; but know it has for many people and a few I know so we're in good company. My beautiful young daughter, who just ran a 26 mile marathon two weeks ago, will be enduring chemo, removal of her breast, maybe both, loss of her glowing hair, and Lord knows what more. Can’t think of a more painful ordeal for anyone when it is their kid. So wish I could trade places with her.

Where my head is at…I’d say don't forget to count your blessings every chance you get and hope that your blessings will continue.
Your daughter and family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know from experience that the big “C” diagnosis is very stressful and consuming. But with the advances of modern medicine cancer can be conquered.

Prayers go out to y'all! Yes, I count my blessings every day but didn't use to. In the late 90's I lost my dad and 9 more relatives within a 3 year span. At first I was looking at my car because every time I got to working on it, someone else would pass....so I stopped working on it all together and well, I knew it didn't have anything to do with it but still didn't do much on it. When I first pulled the engine/trans and K member out (/6 car with a big block going back in), my dad passed on and 6 months after going back to it, my father in law passed and then it seemed like every few months, another relative would leave. I thank God that my kids are still around even though one of them has cheated death more than a few times!

Thanks so much for asking. She had to have her right breast removed, but thankfully no spread was found in lymph nodes. Following week was reconstructive surgery that went well as it has been a couple weeks post. She started working half days last week; big plus is her job is remote. The only thing we’ve got our fingers crossed on now is whether she will need chemo…she’s expecting to hear this news sometime next week. Wife has been staying with her and she also works remotely so another lucky thing. She’s retiring in January.

So greatly appreciate your thought & prayers!

Be strong for her Ron and tell her we are praying for her,I hope for better days for you and your family. God Bless

Here's to a full & speedy recovery...

I hope she kicks its ***

I've lost 3 of my direct family to cancer
in the past 10 or so years,
It never gets any easier as we age either
(thank goodness none of the kids)

my youngest sister at 39, a bit farther back too

2 great HS buds

& another 2 to complications of MS, my mother at 69 years old
other 1 was my beloved Lisa 40 y/o MS & a tainted blood transfusion
Hepatitis, from after she gave birth my youngest,
eventually liver & kidney failure
the offending hospital 'never did' take any responsibility either...

I know 'all to well', the pain/grief of losing a loved one, young & old...

Merry Christmas
to all & to all a great holiday season
hope for the best & prepare/plan for the worst
I hope no one has to go thru that ****...

Cannot tell ya all how much I appreciate the well-wishes for my daughter. And among you having had your own serious worries, suffering, and grief sending your thoughts & prayers. No words to fit the regard for each other.

Wish you & yours all the best…and sadly we have a lot of this to be shared thinking about the folks in KY and area...

Got some nice news last night; my daughter won't need to go through chemo. She's to start hormone treatments requiring a monthly injection for some 5 to 7 years and a daily pill. Hope this will become a distant memory for her 60 years from now.
Again, my many THANK YOU's to all sending well wishes! I wish the same to You & Yours!
Have a Merry Christmas!
