I'm looking for a horn button retainer for the 3 spoke steering wheel on my Satellite. From what I can determine from the internet it is NOT 2530256, unless someone can tell me otherwise?
Thanks

The p/n you need is 2660118 - I have been looking for one myself for quite some time. Good luck.

Both parts, 118 on the left, 256 on the right. Maybe this helps someone identify what you need. I don't have an extra, sorry.

After some study it looks like the more available 256 could be modified to work by grinding off the locking flange and adding about a 1/4" of JB Weld to the top where the clips lock in. Waiting on the JB Weld to cure would be the most frustrating part for me.

118 is for the 3 spoke wood wheel, 256 is for the STD wheel.

Just grind down the upper lip on the 256 to flush. Done it several times. No other work needed. Will now fit the padded center version.

You know I thought about doing that - are you sure it works? The modified unit wont have those raised areas outboard of the 3 ramped spots.

If you're using the padded center piece, the only thing keeping the pad from fitting is the outer lip. I've only done it on those to fit the pad. The other centers like the larger chrome ones won't fit if you grind the lip. I've had to do it because I couldn't find the correct one either. Worked fine for me several times.

Thanks for the comparison, that's really helpful.

So you're making the diameter smaller but not messing with the locking tabs on top, right?

Yes but just for fitting the padded center, not any of the other styles. They all have a bigger inner diameter and need a whole different ring.
