My racecar. Been raced 9 years, valve covers off every 20-25 passes. A few scratches here and there. Wiring comes thru the right frame rail behind the motor plate. This pic was taken this year.

383 in my 1964 Fury, still needs a little clean up as far as wiring but over all I am pleased. I also replaced the tapered style 8 3/4” rear end with a 68/70 style 8 3/4” housing with a 3.23 Sure Grip.

Was that you who did the thread on painting the
engine without pulling it? If so, great job.

That paint on the valve covers looks translucent.
Could just be the lighting, but it's an interesting
effect.

It must be the light. It's powder coated with mirror red. I used the Eastwood powder coating kit.

My little wheezer 273. Wanted to have something kinda stock looking but added the AC and a few other things. Had to make the AC brackets and idler pulley system since the water pump inlet is on the DS and the alt position was on the PS.

has anyone painted trick flow or edelbrock aluminum heads with tor red/hemi orange? mine are still natural finish but I'm wondering what they would look like painted with the lettering.

The original engine was painted in the car but the top end was painted part by part…. It looked good from the top. The 383 shown in the photo was painted as a short block on the engine stand and then once installed everything was bolted on.

This is a 505ci stroker engine with Trickflow 240 aluminum heads and Edelbrock RPM aluminum intake manifold painted hemi orange. I used the paint from Bill Hirsch.

Here's mine. 1970 Road Runner with factory 383, Air Grabber, 4 speed car.

Not seen in picture because it is (mostly) hidden: Fuel injection, computer controlled timing, MSD 6AL ignition box, air conditioning. Goal was to make it look as stock as possible, so aftermarket electronics were hidden under the dash and wiring was disassembled and wired in to stock wiring with friction tape. I had a 500 CI stroker in there but have it out to check tolerances in it. Regardless, when it is in there the engine compartment will look identical except for the intake manifold.

440 engine in my 1964 Polara dressed up to look like 426 Street Wedge (not available in Canada). Big blocks were red in 1964 in Canada, so that's what I painted it. "452" heads, 440 Magnum Mopar Performance cam, Edelbrock 750cfm. carb on Edelbrock intake. Vintage Air added.

426 Street Wedge in 1964 Polara 500 I used to own. "452" heads, Mopar Performance 440 Magnum cam, 2 X 4 intake and carbs from 1962 300H.

One of my test fit excursions. Lots of mods going on due to the 70 k-frame install on my 65.
