I need to know what others have done for carb clearance for crossram intake. My hood is stock 63 dodge with max wedge scoop. I'm having clearance issues with 2 inch high air filters. My question is what mods did you do to the hood to provide clearance and also retain structure strength.

You need to remove the inner X-bracing. I believe Kramers has a template for it, or make some sponges to fit the air cleaner diameter, and chalk them.

The factory cars had the ribs cut out.

My 63 Fury has the stock air cleaners and the hood bracing is still there. I know the front air cleaner comes very close but the hood shuts without issues. It's not a factory car.

Are those the air cleaners that mancini sells? Do they have a drop base plate for hood clearance? What size filters height wise?

The repop air cleaners came from another vendor but they all carry the same repop air cleaners. The dimensions are exact to original based on another website I looked at that had the dimensions listed. The front one is very close, like 1/16" gap at the outer edge
I got the air cleaners from Kramers, same as what Mancini and others carry

My first MW car was a '63 Dodge that was originally a 383 car. I didn't know about the differences in the MW cars so I just installed the motor without removing the hood bracing or moving the VR, etc. Never had any clearance problems except the MC line which I just bent out of the way.
