Have noticed that my rear tail light's come on when putting on the E brake with ignition key off. It is a 69 roadrunner. Just don't know if this is normal or what is going on. New wiring harness and all new every thing. Their was only one wire to hook to the E brake. The dash light come on for the brake also. Well just wondered if this is right. Thanks for any help. Blue.

That’s not the correct operation does your brake lights work when the brake pedal is pushed?

Yes they work when like they should. Just got me wondering why. So think that I will have to get the wiring diagram out and start chasing it down. Thanks.

Yep you got a sneak circuit from the e brake switch to the brake taillights. So when you apply the brake pedal does the e brake light on the dash come one? And does it come on when the E brake is applied?

Brake or tail lights? Take a look under the dash with a good light moving the e-brake or have someone help you by activating it as you look underneath. Could be it is causing movement of the pedal or brake light switch somehow – stuff shifting (wiring, etc.).

brake light dose not come on when applying the brakes on dash cluster. Only when putting on the E brake on. The ignition key was off. I put the parking brake on at the gas pump and noticed the tail light was on the brake filament was on not the running filament. So going to check out and see if my parking brake light's come on up front. This really strange. So on it goes to find the problem. Do you think maybe the turn signal switch is the problem. I did replace that on the car. It work's fine but just thinking maybe some wire is switched. Oh well going to get my diagram and start chasing the problem. Thanks for the input.

This is a four speed car but will check that out also. Like stated the ignition switch was off so why dose the power feed the circuit. Strange for sure. After market wiring got me stumped. Still going to drive the car because as long as I don't use the E brake every thing work's like it is suppose to. Thanks for the tip will check that out also. Blue.

Brake lights are not fed through the ignition.

That tell me more. So can not worry about the ignition switch. That help's me rule that part out. Thanks for the info. This is an SH wiring harness from Year one and may call them today and see if they have an answer to the problem. Grate info.
