I was curious if anyone in the VT, NH region could check out a car.
A ‘61 Imperial. Not a B body I know but a fellow Mopar eh?

It’s located in Maidstone, VT. About 40 minutes from the Canadian border and about 25 minutes from Colebrook, NH.

I want to ship the car home to Connecticut but I’m currently deployed so it’d be sight unseen buy.

I’d like to get solid eyes on the car and lots of pictures taken, as the owner seems like the “If you want it come look at it” type. Looks like a rust free car for a solid price so dont want the chance it to slip away.

For anyone in the area I’d be happy to pay for your gas, food and your time. Hopefully someone who is familiar with these Forward Look cars? Thank you.

A fin car, those are pretty desirable from what I've heard. How long has it been sitting outside?

Not long from what I'm told. Came from Colorado a few years ago. Been supposedly living in a barn up there in Vermont for a while.

I would be glad to go and take a look at it for you. Let me know....Ghost.

That's way up in the "North East Kingdom". Need a special passport to go up there... and lots of ammo...lol..& leave a detailed itinerary so if you don't come back they can send the search party in after you...

I had a '62 as my daily driver for four years in the 90s. Spots to check are the lower quarter panels and rear wheel wells, just like our B bodies, the tendency of rear window to leak works on this area. Not a lot of clearance between the inner and outer sections, so moisture would lay there, rather than evaporating. The trunk floors and floor pans also subject to rot from water leaks. The inner front fender braces on the lower rear section catch debris and hold it, causing rust same as weak spot on B bodies. I drowned my Arizona original's panels in motor oil before I put it on the road, and never had a rust problem. After problems with the 50s Forward Look rocker panels, Chrysler put drains in the later cars which eliminated the problem in that area.

I went and looked at the old girl today. She's a grand old dame too. In good shape, all the trim is nice, and straight. All the chrome is nice and not pitted. No dings no dents. Extra trim in the trunk. 413 that runs. Inside is a time capsule and very nice original condition. The dash is like new. Solid floors and pan. Body needs to be stripped and restored as the rust is pin holing through everywhere. Good glass and the doors and lids all operate like new. All around nice car!

The right fin tip is banged up and the new trim in the trunk is for that. Factory tinted glass all around since it's an A/C car. 413 V8
