Mounting a 65" TV to the wall

I spent 30hrs. putting together a 19" heathkit in 1969 when I was 9 yrs. old. that would be one expensive tv at todays labour rate when you add in the purchase price! and you had to degausse it yourself I was like what kind of voodoo **** is this waving around a coil of electrified wire!

Heathkit, Radio Shack, Lafayette were so freaking awesome in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. Lots of us didn’t appreciate them until they were gone.
I have a ton (literally!) of old Heathkit ham and shortwave radios but unfortunately I didn’t get the pleasure of building them. Now that the current generation is inheriting dad’s and grandads stuff a lot of it is getting junked.
Sad.

Mounting a TV above a fireplace is less than ideal. Unfortunately, it's the only location for big screen TVs in a lot of homes with a fireplace.

I'd return it, if possible. Drilling and tapping may not be possible if the hole goes through to the inside of the TV where metal shavings could short the circuits.

Believe me, It takes some getting used to. 4 tapcons into the bricks, very difficult to drive in.
It would not be very easy to remove them, so I'm ok with a 42 lb TV hanging there - I THINK?
:praying:

I had an aunt that worked for heathkit in mississauga! sometimes customers wanted a product that they could never build themselves. she would take on the build herself for them, I built a few tv's/amps/receivers. one times she payed me with a complete ford GT40 rc car still have it!the chassis on that thing is stamped 1/8plate , I use to run it in a police station parking lot when I was a kid, they had a few cruisers with unidentified body damage. coolest thing was you turned a bike upside down on it's handle bars and one guy pedaled. the flywheel on the car hung out the bottom of the chassis a bit and you dropped the flywheel onto the tire to bump start it!
