chinese tools...

A good friend of mine has a fairly large company 250 + employees, lot of the dies lot of the preped work come from China. He's over there at least two or three times a year, Chinese are not stupid they have millions of square feet of vacent buildings filled with machines waiting for our work, they can do cheap stuff and they can do super high quality also..... you get what you pay for even from China.
They are saturated with all kinds of machinery from Germany, Italy and another countries that produce high-quality stuff, you just got to pay for it and I'll tell you what.... what I've heard is you pay for the best and it's still cheaper than producing here.

From a strictly buissness stand point it makes sence to deal with them, although its so sad that we cannot compete, until things change in our favor it will remain this way.

I will stop here becouse the next part would be political

They buy our scrap metal and turn into products to sell back to us.
Viscious circle of junk
Yup just like a drug dealer...they get you hooked ( thinking your saving a buck) and coming back when the junk wears out ( breaks) to do buy it again.
They created a solid returning clientele/customer base that is hooked mentally on a "deal".

Just because they CAN produce high quality doesn't mean they will. Even if you think you've paid for a specified quality.
How about the actual child "workers" at these plants? Think they give a **** if the tool breaks?

We get what we ask for, low cost, you know what low cost gets you.

WE shot our self in the foot and will be paying for it for a long time
Look at what you buy and try to buy made in North America from a local store

Snap-On has a cheaper line called Blue Point. They're like Craftsman and sears.

Do not purchase Chinese battery chargers. They are known for catching on fire.

I think it's a disclaimer to protect them from lawsuits: Don't Try Using Yankee

How many times can you recycle scrap steel?

I'm delivering parts to quite a few shops and you aught to see the suspension frames and other components that they are replacing from under vehicles. The removed parts are Swiss cheese from the corrosion. Some of these vehicles are only a couple of years old. This recycled steel has no carbon left in it not alone all of the foreign contaminates that's probably in it. It's all junk!

Steel can be recycled endlessly. Required carbon content, trace amounts of any other metals or minerals can all be adjusted during smelting. It all depends on the care taken during the process.

You would be surprised what is made from recycled steel right here in the US.
Many mills today use nothing but scrap.

Best place to buy quality tools is a yard sale. I kid you not. Corningware also. They dont explode like the new crap. I'll take 60's stuff any day.

And the cost of doing this. I worked QC at a elevator manufacturer and a large majority of the parts were being manufactured in China. It was totally crap. China has no mandatory guidelines when it comes to what they make.

I used to spend a lot of time in China….before the China virus. Spent years developing suppliers to make steel parts that you have used if you fly.
Probably have fired more suppliers than kept. Biggest supplier company is run by an American. They are really high quality manufacturing. The other is in Taiwan. Also excellent.
Meet a lot of US supplier people, hear stories that are fraud, incompetence and some very illegal in other countries.
Junk stuff from China wasn’t manufactured to be anything but junk. Easy money.
