What did you do to your Mopar today?

Had to charge the battery to start the 70 Road Runner. It's not holding a charge. :cursin: This annoys me because it is only 5 years old, was a top of the line battery and has had a pretty easy life so far. It has always been maintained and kept charged. I have a diehard battery from my 73 Road Runner that is probably 10 years old and is still kicking :rolleyes:
 
Finally got everything buttoned up on the driver side quarter panel. Smoothed out welds & scuffed it up. 2 coats of epoxy topped with 2 coats of 2K high build!
This was the last big area, rest is small potatoes!

I've been thinking about doing just that. While I'd rather not have a big tank sitting outside the house I may have to consider doing so since electric heat is so expensive. I haven't yet calculated what the return on investment is, but the heater is around $500. So I bet I could buy and install a decent system for around $1000 - $1500. It might only take a year or two to pay for itself. I just have enough other projects at the moment.

For now, I use the electric heat and just swear softly when the electric bill comes in...


I'd highly recommend propane and a "tube" heater mounted to the ceiling. Clean, safe and no loss of floor space. I put one in my shop in 2004 and it still works like a champ!
 
Back to work on pass side fender edge. I think it's about as good as I can do. Ready to sling some mud.

I did clean up the gap after this pic was taken.
 
I test fit my gauges, bezels and dash pads on my dash frame before I paint it. Need to make some minor adjustments to the lower left dash pad to get it to fit properly.

Transmission out yesterday. Cleaned and took it to rebuild shop today. My wallet feels lighter already.
 
Pulling the trans out of my 2001 Ram Van again
 
Put bushings in my dual distributor housing. Painted it and put it in the garage oven to cure it.
 
Over Thanksgiving weekend I sprayed the Charger with epoxy to lock down the filler and cover any bare metal spots. I got the epoxy sanded and today I sprayed the car with polyester

I think I found out why the speedo stopped working. Resting against a header tube it welded the sheath to the cable. Bought a new cable off of eBay, arrived in four days. While I was at it I also bought a 35 tooth speedo gear to correct the calibration since swapping in the 3.55s. Should arrive on Tuesday.
Speaking of eBay, the cable was manufactured by OER, the same part sold on YO and Classic Industries. It was the same price on eBay, $44, but included free shipping; the other two wanted $17. 30% off doesn't help much when they bend you over on the shipping costs.
