I'm replacing the Temp & Fuel gauges in my 70 R/T as they're fried from a previously failed voltage regulator. I pulled some gauges out of an old parts cluster I had and tested them and they worked!

They need re-faced and I was hoping to add a nice vinyl sticker overlay like I did the Ramcharger and Duster, but the only ones available I've found are the white ones, which are not what I'm ok with in my car.

Has anyone ever come across such a gauge overlay kit? or am I going to have to just do the best I can with a permanent marker.

I know I can buy new replacement gauges, but I don't want to because the needle is different on the new reproduction ones and my OCD would flare up.

70 RT ? what car that is an RT that doesnt have rally gauges Im curious

I went to a local decal shop and had them make one for my 70 am radio, I took it in and the matched it and install it for me.

Google Premiumdashdecals, and see what they have. They probally have what you are looking for in stock. You will have to buy a whole gauge kit refacing kit.

that's exactly what I'm trying to find, except for the 68-70 gauges. (Those are for the 71 & up B-Body's with standard gauges)

It says 68-70 right in the listing. Find them yourself.

I don't think such a product exists at this point. Not sure if you're intentionally trying to be a dick, or just are, but it's visually apparent that those overlay's are for the 71 & up B-Bodies (like in your sig) and wont work in a 68-70....

sooo.... Testers Fluorescent Orange, Dupli-Color Low Gloss Black (to paint the gauge faces) and some Sharpie Oil-Based White paint markers for the hash marks and it doesn't look bad at all. Best part is that they work. I need to get under the car and figure out why I had to ground the fuel sending wire to get the gauge to move, but otherwise I'm satisfied.

I'm probably going to send my original burnt up gauges to thegaugedoc.com for repair. I only painted up the temp/fuel gauges I swapped in from a cluster I had in storage.

Has anyone used one of decal kits? How easy are they to install? Any installation issues?

I used them on the gauges in a 74 Ramcharger and they were fantastic and still look good a few years later. I did a ton of searching for a set for the 68-70 B-Body standard gauges and none exist in any color other than white.

The numbers are printed on the lens.

yes, but I think the other poster was looking for the complete gauge face overlay vinyl like I was....and they don't exist. when you did the vinyl overlay for the has marks, is it a reflective vinyl or what is the finish?

It says matte finish in the description. They show up great under my LED dash lights.
