ZZ1 Color?????

Talked to Kolor Korrect and they are sending me some spray outs. I used them for interior spray paint (Citron), good product, Mucho $$$$$. Can't take it with ya. Thanks for your help.
Lol, your right about the $. When looking for paint for my 64' ( med. turq.) i must have done 15 spray outs, no kidding. I did as you are doing and had them sent me one of theirs and after seeing it there was no going back. They nailed it and thats hard to do with the formula/ material changes. Good luck with your project , looks like a nice car.

View attachment 1214698 Having a hard time locating the correct color for my 66. It has a Citron interior and, from what I understand, a one year only paint color as well. Anybody else have this prob?? Thanks
"Citron" is a Plymouth name. Gold Poly Metallic is what Dodge called their color. The computer copied paint chips are a long ways away from what the color really is. There is a link below the Barracuda photo. Here's a Barracuda that is Citron.

ZZ1 on a 66 Charger is more green than a 67 ZZ1 which is more gold. The engine compartment fender wells and firewall in the picture are original paint. It took my painter a lot of tries (spray-outs) to match existing paint in door jams, trunk, and engine compartment (it's close). The color is deceiving -- sometimes it looks gold, sometimes goldish green, sometimes green.

Yep, is it gold or green. It's like the paint is green with gold metallic. You would swear the original paint had pearl in it but back in 66 I doubt it.
Mike, it's funny you say that because i said the same thing about 64' KK-1 and that seemed to be the part that the modern day paints were missing in there formulas- the flop. Kolor Korrect nailed it. I had PPG store and a RM store try to color match a Kolor Korrect spray out to see what would happen, they couldn't get close enough for a decent match even through it started life as a PPG products. There is definitely some science/ art to matching the old stuff.

I hope that I don't sound stupid, but how much should a gallon of paint cost these days?? I was quoted 900. , seemed high.

I had my '64 painted couple of years ago. My body and paint guy says that supplies have almost doubled in cost since he bought stuff for my car.

I found a very, very, very close color. A light green metallic. I'm painting the entire car any how so.... $200 a gallon sounds better than 900. (yeah, I'm kinda cheap) Thanks for all the answers and support
