i said that with the new rules for paypal, that i thought i would be done with pp. i even gave away my last 50.00 to charity. i have had no luck selling anything because i was told that using cash, check or usps money order takes too long. making me rethink my decision. any thoughts about this? i know that it will come down to me but need a few more sets of eyes looking at this. tia.

Whatever spare parts I have now will be sold at a swap meet for cash. I am done with the whole online crap and shipping problems.

With this BS happening, I wish I spent more time over the years trying to empty a building I have had for 25 plus years that's filled with parts that I hoarded hoping to use one day..

I dont sell much and I really never had a problem with PP and I do use it to buy, my friend does not use PP but buys parts with no problem using checks.

Yeah, done with it here too. I still have a bunch of nice parts, here in Canada we can E-transfer funds and that's how I'll sell the rest of my parts, to Canadians using E-transfer only.

Hopefully i will have this 40 year collection of parts gone by this year......lm getting Burned out! :fool::fool::usflag:

I enjoy the convenience of PayPal in buying. A 1099 doesn't worry me in the least as I do keep records. I will consult with my tax preparer about possible consequences. I don't sell that much but still except PayPal with the buyer paying fees. Most people on this forum are trustworthy enough to do family and friends, but I do look at their feedback and time on the forum. It's like most anything, exercise care, and use good sense.
I had a positive action by PayPal today. I was going through my PayPal purchases and found a transaction where I had not received the item. It was about 2 and a half months old. I went to their Resolution Center and filed a complaint. It was resolved and my money returned before I could log off.
Also, with age I tend to be more impatient and lose interest if I cannot compete a transaction in a timely manner. You spend time and money if you have to purchase a money order, or cashiers check. With all that involved a small fee doesn't look that bad.
I'm going to stay until something better comes around.

Man I love our banking system !! $1.50 to instantly transfer any amount from one person to another and the banks don't give a **** whether its a gift to your grandchild or payment for a bag of crack.

I have sold quite a lot over on A-bodies over the year's and a few things here. I still have quite a bit of stuff. I've been thinking about this myself. I belielve I also will just start doing Check,MO,CC. or go sell it at a Swap Meet. I'm not going to keep record's for something that
is a Hobby.
