How to clean or wash seat belts

I did mine in a laundry tub with some laundry detergent and warm water. Rinsed them VERY well then hung on the line to dry. They came out awesome.

Did the Bird's right in the car, spray can of upholstery cleaner..

Scrubbing bubbles for showers on the seats and vinyl roof and use the little plastic bristle brush from the upholstery cleaner can to work it into the grain. Best I've ever seen/used. I've tried many things over the years and they always went right back to looking gray. Seats and top are still Black as the day I cleaned them in 2019.

Similar to Stanton, I used Simple Green.

I agree...Simple green and a bucket of hot/warm soapy water. Soak belts in the warm water for a bit, then remove one and spray both side with simple green....then use a soft nylon brush to scrub them. I ended up doing this a couple times because grime just kept coming off of them.

Took my front ones out, hung them on the mat holder at the self spray car wash, lots of dirt came off and nice result

I put mine in laundry bags and washed them in the machine. Let them air dry. Worked great. Then I re-dyed them.

Zip tie them to your wife's dishwasher racks, and run them through. A couple times if needed. Works great!

I used Woolite. It doesn't mess up the old seat belt material if that's a concern. Mine came out looking like new. You can see the belt pattern very clearly.

Put them in cold water for a day. Use your hands to gently wash the belts. Rinse. The tags on the belts come out real nice too. I did this to my survivor belts and couldn't be happier.

Washing the nylon seatbelts you should use a bit of woolite if a soap is needed. We have done a lot of studies on cleaning aircraft passenger belts, the degradation can be significant if any chemicals are used. The critical items are elongation and breaking strength.
