Black Ghost: The mysterious 1970 Challenger that dominated Detroit street racing

No offense
I think it was an exaggerated tale,
'but still a cool car'
it's a cool story too
BUT;
especially with all the "really fast" Hemi's running around Detriot
& Woodward Ave. especially in 1969-71, the hay day
to claim his dominance :jackoff: , with a mostly stock (?) car (all hype ?)

It didn't do it in 'its current form/configuration'
sorry no offense intended, to those that worship such tales

I am now wondering when it's going to hit the auction circuit
"The Ghost" has gotten a hell of 'a lot of exposure' of late

Great car, every year this video/story/car seems to gain popularity again and makes the board circuit :poke:

 but i already knew this car.

I like the story time and again, just as the Silver Bullet 67. Those were the days when there was nothing quicker. Consider Demons in 50 years, there will be old farts like us, reminiscing.

Um, perhaps Budnicks may have been referring about a couple of cars on the Woodward scene much like this?
Woodward Ave. Legend, Jimmy Addison & the Silver Bullet ...

As Church Lady would say:
SATAN?

Yeah, this car was a real Street Sweeper!

Looking at the Demons for sale over on BAT... it doesn’t appear any of them actually got driven.:D

Being a rare SE/RT, it increases the value of this car...
I had a 70 SE R/T 440, slap stick auto
GoMango
My wife at the time drove it at Wright Pattterson AFB
Sold it for a Down Payment on a house
ha ha
But, the SE R/Ts were a very good looking car
The ghost of course, incredible
Is it going for auction?
Out of my price range

Great story and who cares if it’s ‘over egged’.

I just wished it was my Dad, who was cool enough to have a Hemi Challenger...

Cool car and cool story. Been alot of discussions about it over the years here in the Motor City.

Son says it's not for sale.

It is an overexagerated tail as mentioned above. There were dozens of Detroit iron back in the 70's that would have smoked this car. However, I do love the car. Such a shame the Family is going to sell after all these years. Every interview I have seen for years it was mentioned it was going to get passed to the Grandson someday. I bet that kid is pissed now.

Kind of looks like an orchestrated sales strategy. Neat car but really just about all of us had legendary Hemi cars in our area, this one just got pushed to get press by the look of it.
I know we had a couple of Hemi cars in our area that had a reputation as well and of course there were a few hemi owners that didn't have the driving skill or tuning skill to back up the reputation that the good ones earned.
I know for my own self I was happy when we finally got a dragstrip and I shutdown all the talkers in front of the whole city. I wasn't about winning money and I didn't appreciate all those guys that got "slightly beat" or "I'm gonna get him next year" and all their stories and excuses on the street.

I met the current owner a few years ago. Nice guy. Who knows about the stories. We had a nice conversation as my Dad had a new Plum Crazy 70 R/T SE Hemi Challenger. I took my road test in it. Then at 16 years old I can weave tales of what I did to it. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb
