This one was built to compete.

My favorite Barris vehicle, THE CAR.

Just recently, there was a nice looking 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III for sale in my area. Triple black, supposedly 50,000+ original miles.

These cars came with a 460 four barrel rated at 365hp, 500 ft lbs torque, with every luxury thing you could get on a car back then. Even came with radial tires, instead of bias ply.

I contacted the seller to go see it, but he said someone had already put a down payment on it. He said he would contact me if the sale fell through. I didn’t hear from him and the ad was removed, so I assume it sold.

I’m not a custom guy. But that car, built by George Barris and his brother is the quintessential custom car.

Dragula went for $400k plus.
