Just picked this up for a good deal.

NOS in box Accel BEI distributor with mechanic tach drive for a big block mopar and Accel BEI II ignition box.

Bought so I could run a old Jones/Stahl/Moroso tach without going points or magneto.

has anyone used one of these boxes? MSD makes an adapter to use a 6al, but I’m curious as I have a thing for period speed parts. And could I wire up a rev limiter to this like a old Mallory Engine Safety Control?

Can’t really answer the last half, but my HEI worked great for 20+yrs. The question is where can you can parts now? Sorry for the downer.

Cant answer for the ignition box but a tach drive get a splitter and you can find a part that is a rev limiter that screws into it the way they did it in the past.

Although it is a SBC in my 55 Chev, I have used the Accel 39100T BEI II distributor and MSD 6AL in my Super Stocker. To do this you must have the MSD #8802 adapter to convert the Accel distributor signal to the MSD box.
Recently I converted to a MSD Crank Trigger so I have locked out the timing on the distributor. As well, the BEI to MSD #8802 conversion box is no longer needed. The crank trigger now fires the ignition not the distributor. But I have kept the mechanical tach as it retains that period look. I never did try the original Rev Limiter as I could never find one.
