71 Charger SE build

Put my spare 70 air cleaner on till the weather warms up and I can get the 71 refinished. Engine compartment pretty much buttoned up.

When you get the 71 air cleaner finished let me know if the 70 is still a spare. Lol . I need to redo the wrinkle paint on mine.

Will do. I like the VHT paint and it flows out nice in the sun on a South Carolina 95 degree day. LOL

By the way, your car is beautiful.

Thank you. Its a home build so to say doing all the work myself. Should be ready for a show or two late summer. Looking to bring it to Carlisle in 2023.

Glass showed up last week so I have been busy polishing the Stainless trim so its ready when the glass installer comes Friday for the front and rear glass.
First pic is pass one with a sisal wheel and black rouge. Second is green rouge on a medium wheel, and last is a loose wheel and a coat of Rolite to buff it out. Not perfect but happy with the results.

That came out really nice! Did you install the glass yourself?

I had someone with the right materials do it. $250 done. Glass came from Auto city classic and fit perfect.

Alignment day. I use a Fast Trax caster/camber gauge and Gil smith racing turn plates. These things are slick, literately! I use a couple Crown Vic 18" spares tires that work well for alignments so I can get my arms around them to make adjustments.

Was able to get 5 degrees positive caster, -0.5 camber, and 1/8" in on the toe. Road test tomorrow as the weather is crappy today. Also going to toss in the drivers seat belts so I can go to the Run to the Sun show with it next Saturday.

First fill up. It likes the 93 non ethanol. Happy with the alignment, drives nice and straight.

Put it on an alignment rack to dial it in even though I like my baseline. Kid had no problem using my specs and nailed it. Man it drives nice now. Did have a rattle start in the right rear and found the aftermarket passenger exhaust hanger imploded. I installed the original 50 year old mount which was still in good shape.

Also added some bling based on the original measurements I took when dissembling the car.
