Which Pertronics distributor do I want?

Listening to your suggestions I should get the Pertronics distributor but which one? I have a stock 1969 383. Used to be a 2bbl now a 4bbl. I like the idea of a drop-in one-wire installation. The more I looked the more confused I was. I believe you mentioned the Flamethrower and maybe the Flamethrower III but I was finding different model numbers for what looked like the same thing. Prices varied also.

So now I need a bit more detail.
 
Depends on what you do with the car. Mine is a street car and I use the Pertronix I kit.
Used them in several cars.Some are 20 years in service.The" I" is all I ever needed. The II and III require a ballast by pass. All work very well.
 
I like the I kits. Whatever you do buy make sure the curve is compatible with your set up.
 
Use your distributer and install this. That’s what I done and am very happy.

Halifax hops can set you up well. He did mine and it’s been trouble free and did the job I needed on an all stock car. The curve was dialed in so it was a drop in for me when it came. I’ve had enough cars that I knew what to tell him I wanted and it’s been smooth sailing.

I don’t know how hot your engine is. I used to run the model 2 kits back about 20 years ago. The model 1 seems to light the fires pretty good in a stock 440 hp. I don’t shift by hand though and the 727 says the party is over at 5200. Car is concours cruiser so that’s fine by me.

how high rpm are you turning?
 
I would leave the Pert dist on the shelf...at Pertronix.
 
Use your distributor and get a pertronix I. They work flawlessly and no ballast needed.
