Pulled the front drums of my 65 Coronet. Is this normal for the brake and backing plate to be twisted looking? This is the first B body I've owned.
Thanks

interesting -
mosts assemblies are not tilted that much.

So maybe someone has way to much caster set in the alignment - caster is rotation forward or backwards from the perpendicular center line (from floor)
or something else is up .....

Bill

I'd expect it to be twisted the other way slightly. This looks like the LCA is bent backwards or maybe the spindle is on the wrong side ??

think spindles are one sided - if they're switched the drag link be up front somewhere.
if the LCAs are bent that be one hell of a bend ....

can't wait to hear what the OP figures out.

any chance the ball joints are not correct for the application ???

Very curious as well. Don't remember seeing that before! ruffcut

This is the way it was when I got the car. The car is a unfinished project and has all new stuff. Has not been on the road or aligned.
Not sure if the spindles are on the wrong sides. Has 11" X 3" brakes

Something isn't right. Post up some more pics from behind the spindles and of the lower control arms. Could be upper control arms are on opposite sides.

11 x 3 brakes, on a 65 Coronet? Is that factory, or were they swapped from something else? I would not think 11 x 3 would have been available on a 65 Coronet?? (I may be wrong.)

I took a set of 11x3's off a 72 ebody no problem. Something wrong with lower control or a long strut rod?

I think they were a option

Middle photo. What is that nut and bolt with the bolt shank partly exposed? Is that supposed to be for a sway bar? No bushing?? I'm confused.
Is where the sway bar bolts to the strut there is a bushing just can't see

The knuckles (spindles) are the same, so don't waste any time swapping them. Your middle picture shows the ball joint stud sitting in front of the control arm, but the bottom pictue looks like it is going through the arm like it should . What gives?
