I noticed my 74 Rallye does not have a glove box light/switch but my Plain Jane 74 Charger does have it. I always thought the glove box light/switch was standard. My Rallye under dash harness has been altered and the glove box was not the original one. It looks like the light/switch part was common between B-bodies and E-bdies for several years. Was the light standard on all 71-74 B-bodies?

I think never have seen a 71/74 Charger without a light on glovebox. It requires the hole opened on dash frame which is not easy to make for a regular add on later ( or at dealer ). Does your Rallye dash frame have the hole made or not ? Or is the hole there and just filled with a filler plug ?

About the socket/switch assembly, not just E bodies but also all A bodies earliers B and C bodies take the same piece. The only diff will be the lenght of the pink wire attached and the plug used. Tipically is a barrel terminal, but I have seem them with packards too

I have a 73 Rallye here right now with no gloves box light, no ash tray light, no ignition key light,, and no map light. Probably a package the car does not have.

No map light and key light is ok. They are not regulat accs, but no ashtray light and glove box? Weird LOL.

Does it have a filler plug on dash frame where supposed to be the glove box switch?

So my Rallye has all the items in the A01 package except the glove box light. The glove box had been replaced with an aftermarket one because the dealer installed A/C and the flexible tubes to the passenger's side A/C vent ran behind the glove box. I'll include my car's broadcast sheet and in the L section under Glove Box Light, it has a "1" making it L11-1. Does the car get a Glove Box Light with that code? The hole is in the dash frame for the light switch. Thanks for your input.

This is my Silver 73 Rallye I am referring to.

No filler plug either, just an open hole.

It has no fender turn signals either, so I would say it does not have the A01 package.

My Yellow 73 Rallye has all of that.
