1965 Belvedere I Sedan

More to Come as soon as I can figure out how to save the orientation of the photos on my laptop correctly so they upload here properly. I’ve rotated and saved them again but it’s still not uploading in the correct orientation. I asked Joey about it and he said there are identifiers written into the photo data that define the orientation. So another project to overwrite photo data!

The '65 post car was always my favorite, other than a '70 Cuda. My 1st drag car was a '65 Coronet post. The Ply was more attractive IMHO.
Great work!!

I have your big brother to Big Flo. Started out the same,6, 3 on the tree, no radio, no nothing.
Went from a 225 to a 451 to a 472 Hemi in the last 18 years.
We will be watching the transformation.Thanks.

I have seen your car in a number of posts. Looks great - I like your stance and tire choice - fills out the wheel wells nicely. Since they’re related, they may look similar when I’m done - but Big Brother would still kick my ***, lol

Same thing needed to be done on the Passenger side lower quarter panel.

Gotta show the pedals some love

Of course this car came with an unusual rear end. It had the 8 3/4 size housing but came with an 8 1/4 ring gear - yes they did that. So I coudn't convert it to a Sure Grip so I bought a 489 third member and converted that. The last picture here was a major milestone - it was the first thing that I installed back on the car! I finally stopped taking things off and started re-assembly. Good feeling and a very small light at the end of the tunnel.

With the quarters patched, body work could begin

I trust that deze are older pitures as it ain't that warm out der deze dayz! LOL!:D

Yes - these are pictures from this past fall.
I got the doors and panels back on. I made a last minute decision to close up the side molding holes and not put the side molding back on. I saw a picture of one of these cars without the molding and I really liked it. Plus my molding is kinda beat up. If I don't like it, I can always add them back. That set me back a few weeks before this winter. I finished the body work for the filling the molding holes and applied high build primer over those areas. That is the current stage of the car - sitting in the garage waiting for warm weather.

Ya know, that's funny. The guy who redid the body on my old 65, before I bought it, did the same thing, if I recall. It was repainted almost the same color as yours was originally; maybe a little more blue. I wish I could find the pictures of it but there weren't many. That was way back in the early 70's. I think I had a "pocket 20" camera back then.

Interesting, never heard of 8 1/4 ring gears in an 8 3/4 housing. I wonder how they did that.

741 case. Just guessing the pinion was the same. Musta been the ring and carrier for the rest.
Why ? Chrysler did stranger things.

Cold weather project. I had two sets of headlight bezels that were equally good - or bad, depending on how you looked at them. I took the best choices of the left and right sides, then polished and cleaned them up and removed any wax. etc. I wanted to repaint the black that was faded. I used 1/8" tape to tape off all the ribs and taped off the rest with regular masking tape. I did not snap a picture when I had them all taped, damn it. It took a while to tape all those ribs. I sprayed the parts with adhesion promoter first and then a couple coats of flat black, rattle can paint. The 'before' picture is the one set of bezels that I did not use, but is representative of the set that I finished. Not perfect, but happy with the results.

Jumping around a bit - did this project in December. I'm going original exterior paint code LL1, Dark Metallic Turquoise but was never a fan of the interior tan color. So going with a custom interior that has combination of turquoise/copper seats from Legendary. I hope I like them cause you can't send them back :). Don't have seat covers yet, but painted the dash and trim with the matching copper paint from Kolor Korrect. Used the suede texture paint for top of dash and semi-gloss on all else.
