Is this 69 roadrunner worth restoring or is she too far gone.

Buy it. I just bought this 68 and it was a hell of a lot more expensive than that one. But it does have a clear title, is a four speed, and is a factory A/C car with the numbers matching engine and transmission. It’s no cream puff but it’s all there. Plus the car came with a new one piece floor pan, trunk pan and extensions, extra deck lid, nice extra hood, extra doors, etc. The previous owner had been planning the restoration for years and buying parts but he passed away before he ever did it.
 
I wouldn’t want to try and bring it back. Like others said, it could be done. It does make my cars look very doable!:D

It’s probably worth what he’s asking just for the VIN.

Just to give you some insight. Bought the car for 7 thou. Motor cranked and found out it was not worth rebuilding. Down the rabbit hole I went. Wanted a runner a 69 for sure. My dream car. LOL. The car was missing interior parts. It needed everything and put it back to a four-speed car. Did get lucky and find the trans. for 400 dollars. It was like brand new inside. One good thing. Wanted a bucket seat car with console. So, make it that way. Console parts and all cost around a thou. Then sheet metal. Upper and lower cowl. New roof skin-quarters- filler panel- floor pan-trunk pan- valance panel-drop downs- Inner frame rail for upper roof support not easy to find and it went on and on. Make sure a fixer upper has a back seat they are not easy to find. Make sure it has not been stripped of interior trim parts. They cost a bunch alone. Not in clueing what I paid for the car in the beginning. New front window-back window- new doors-one inner front fender-one outer front fender. Door glass-new vent window frames it goes on and on. Now welding and grinding for hours on end. Thousands in grinding wheel's-Gas for welder-cost of the welder- wire wheels-sand blast material. It goes on and on. 3000 for paint to do the car and I painted it. Epoxy paint by the gallons to seal up every inch of the car. Did all the fabrication myself and body work as well as painting her. My motor would have had to be bored over 60 and that would not work on an A/C car. So found a 383 block for 400 plus shipping. Had to go 20 over stock. Crank was bad and had to find one of those. New cam new push rods. New connecting rods. New pistons. New valves. Everything new in the motor. Head could be used after reworked. So, look into some of the show case's here and see the total amount of work us guys have put into these cars. Spend a little more money and buy one that is a driver and has been brought back close to original. 5 and half year's put into my car and know some guys have 12 years in theirs. So not counting on the labor price which we don't because it was our time. But figure a shop's time and this car would cost around 100 thou. to restore. At least 40 grand in parts

. 7thou for the motor work. Thank goodness I could do most of the work myself or all of it. Food for thought my friend and good luck on finding your dream car.
 
I have loved 68-9 Runners since about mid 80s. I have seen projects go from about $50 to $1500 to $3500 to $5000 and now the crazy stuff today at $5000-maybe $8000. And even those usually are missing a bunch of parts! Even around here in Tx, 99% have rusted out floors, fenders, doors, rockers, window edges, and roofs if they had a vinyl top! Good sub frames though!!! Maybe better if came out if dry West Tx? Roadrunners rusted!!!

I went to the ‘88 Mopars at Raceway Park. In the swap meet section, a guy had over 30 dashboards for sale with titles. Several V codes a couple M codes and many others. All muscle cars. Where do think they ended up? That was one show.

Well then I guess there are a lot of faked cars out there and done illegally.

There’s also real cars out there with 70% Asian sheet metal from 2017. And that doesn’t seem to bother most people.
 
The Roadrunner in my sig was purchased for 8k. All bodywork was done except a small patch panel driver side rear lower quarter. Running and driving sort of. The engine ran and had some brakes.

The lower quarter patch was AMD which means it has some Asian blood in it. The rest of the car is original sheet metal. :lol:
 
There is a pair of roadrunners for sale in Houston on FB marketplace for 10k. They are both really rough. I guess one was going to be a parts car and not many good parts.
 
Tiwan bought up all our equipment to stamp out the sheet metal part's. The molds are not kept in perfect condition I must say. AMD doses go down and check on the process. Nothing is reproduced here in our county. AMD is as close as you can get too original thickness. Other company's metal is thinner. What are we going to do? When looking for replacement sheet metal. Donar metal is as bad or worse than what we have. I was told you are lucky that we can find metal that is as close to original as you can find. LOL. So, the quest goes on to build and bring these old cars back to life.
