Stage 5 hemi conversion heads question

Put an LS in it, dressed up as an early hemi. (I've seen it done.)

Sarcasm! Just kidding.

Edit: if you DO find a pair of conversion heads, remember you need the rockers and stands too, the stock hemi stuff will NOT work. I'm not even sure stock valve covers will work, always seen stage five covers on the few conversion sets I've seen.

they actually work pretty well & the dyno sheet figures is a lot better than any standard hemi or crate motor but for a while there when you could get aftermarket blocks & crate motors they lost there market niche but who knows may come back. the design & engineering is very impressive plus it eliminates some of the notorious ugly hemi valve train angles that you get with higher lift cams but I've still had one sitting on a engine stand for about 10yrs now waiting to go in a car that I lost interest in.

Heads are very similar in look & design as the factory except the bolt pattern is totally different but you still use a hemi gasket & you need to put in oil returns. The only thing different on the valve train is the outside rockers & stands also if your using stock chrome valve covers you will need spacers or the roller rockers will hit them. But I'm sure everybody knows this already!!

The Stage V conversion Heads could make a TON of power.... we've exceeded 900 hp with them easily, therein being the problem for most conversions utilizing a stock 2 bolt main block ?
Obviously then
"best" application for the Stage V conversion Heads being to move into an aftermarket Wedge 440 Block.... and coming full circle at that point to just BUY a "HEMI" Block and run the std HEMI Heads at that point.
They are now discontinued.

If you want the eye candy.... just buy the HEMI Block and Std Stage V Heads

Just like everything these days. Everything is difficult to find and buy. For a Hemi. Even worse. I spent several years piecing mine together as I went. I bought the best of the best as I could afford it. 528" with a Mopar Mega Block, Mopar (Edelbrock) heads, Barton rocker system all probably overkill for a street car. I have $17,500 or so into mine. However, it helps huge that I am able to machine and make everything at work and that I am WD or better on pricing with most suppliers.

We are looking at that too, I know a 440 isn't cross bolted, but just looking at 500 ish up, burn up tires now and then etc. Only blocks I'm finding is Kieth black at 8,000. I'm sure alot of them are sitting in garages for that " someday" project, they don't sell..

I was looking for a set for a 400 block. I figure a factory forged steel 383 crank would take 1500hp pretty easily.

Barton Rockers and Jessel are nice but the stage 5 is better for street use. Remember Barton and Jessel rockers are top line race product and not necessary for the street monster. Stage 5 rockers are steel and durability out weighs the ultra hi performance aluminum alloy found with the Barton and Jessel systems stage 5 are also very expensive but built like a tank for street use.

Haha is that 1 a mistake? I'm missing the sarcasm.

I ran a 1-3/32 race cam in one, crank made a grand exit.

Can't speak for all of them, but here's 1. Sorry for the chinese version of a pic*
It’ll either hold it or be catastrophic but at least we’ll know the answer
