Has anyone dealt with Jamie at Passon Transmissions lately?

My buddy recently had his original A-833 Hemi 4 speed rebuilt and converted to the A-833 Hemi 4 speed overdrive. It was done in a reasonable timeline.

I sold him a trans setup from an early A body at the Nats, he was a busy man there.

Any idea if "bugs" have been worked out on his 5 speed tranny?
(I was considering purchasing one and lost interest due to problems being reported)

I have an A-855 five speed in my Road Runner. Works great and so far, no problems. It has been in there about a year now.

Glad to see your transmission is working.
On his website they're ~$6k, none in stock, call to get on waiting list.

I wanted one in 2015 when I did my cross country trip in my 70 Road Runner. Instead, I threw in a A-833 4 speed overdrive conversion for the trip. I was on the waiting list for 5 years before I got mine.

Passon is a small US business who wants his transmission to be 100% built in the USA, including the internal parts. From what I understand, he has had a lot if issues with parts suppliers. When you couple that with the very high level of interest, you get long waits. I'm glad I waited for mine. I can swap between my A-855 and my original A-833 4 speed in about 2 hours. There are Zero modifications to the car. Bellhousing, transmission cross member and driveshaft are all the same. Swapping between them is no different than swapping between 2 different A-833 transmissions.

GFI designed, builds, and holds the warranty.
They did everything they could to source the cheapest parts possible, lost money, and duped a third party in WY, John Huff, who owns a restaurant, to dump hundreds of thousands into it.
He became responsible for road 'testing' the trans, and barely tests them, if at all.
He also sells trans that are sent to him, which wasn't part of the deal.

When there's an issue all three parties point the finger at each other, lie, bitch and whine about each other, and resort to just straight up ignoring customers.

They are all grossly incompetent, everyone at GFI, Huff, and Passon.

I know many received trans that work, but it is a fraction of the total number of trans.

The reality is, they are all knowingly selling defective trans.
I mean that literally, shipping multiple known defective trans.

Sounds like the Status Quo from the last time I investigated.....

If this is true, it's unfortunate as I'd like to have a turn-key installation...

I talked with Jamie about 18 months or so ago. It was more on technical options than availability of the A855. But he did hint of at least a year wait. (I got the impression even longer) And that some of the quality control issues are being resolved. (Which wasn't that reassuring with the verb "being") Thats the last I've heard.

Yup was just dealing with him.
Seems like alot of backorder issues.

Supposedly my hemi od gears were shipped, just waiting on them now.
