Winter finally arrived.

I'm sure a bunch of you have already been hit by this weather pattern but holy crap it's cold here like -5.

Things my dad used to say:
Colder than a witch's tit.
Colder than a well digger's asshole.
It would freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

I remember one line that got past the censors in the M.A.S.H. tv show. It was supposed to be a real cold snap in Korea where the camp was. Colonel Potter came into the tent and said, "Keep the brass monkeys in tonight!"

The line in MASH didn't get past the censors. There was nothing to censor.
On old sailing ships the iron cannon balls were stacked on a rack. They were made of brass and were called, "monkeys". Since the balls and brass were made of dissimilar metals, when it got cold the balls would contract and fall off the monkeys.

roads here are better in the winter full of snow/ice! one thing I've always said about severn township if the road get smooth your likely driving in the ditch!
was +3c yesterday and rain losing some of the snow we have on the trails. -10 this morning and snowing lightly! bring it on I'm not done sledding yet,there's still a few trees out there I havn't hit yet! got out on monday while the trails were still reasonable was good ride to coldwater for breakfast to support the local small town establishments! probably 40miles round trip, a short ride but with ice scratchers down no problem cooling the beast!Family day weekend here and quite a few people out walking the sled trails at least most of them know there tresspassing and stay off to the side!
