Getting ready to order some tires....last minute thoughts ?

Thanks everyone.....appreciate it

Do the cooper's have a black wall side? Not sure how the lettering will look

Kinda figured they would have one side black....awesome thanks.

bfg just dont hook up for me. I had MT drag radial and loved them but they went away quick. Now I run Cooper cobra and they are the best of both worlds. The front will be switched this spring. PICS when your done!!

Different color, but this might help. I've been very happy with my Coopers. I usually make the 80+ mile (each way) trip to SE WI for the WMMC car shows twice a year and it rides like a dream on the Coopers. I'm partial to the white letters, but I think they'd look good on your Satellite.

I'm very happy with my Mickey Thompsons Sportsman S/T's. They seem to handle track use and street use well, and aren't wearing down as fast as I'd expect them to.

Here are the sizes on my 69' Bee

Front Rim: 15x8, 4.5 bs

Front Tire: 245/60R15

Rear Rim: 15x10, 5.5 bs

Rear Tire: 295/50R15

Any issue rubbing?
Summit doesn't have the 15x8 with 4.5bs till May, they only have the 4.0 BS if those will work on a 69 Charger.
Thank You

I guess they make 14” big tires, hope

What did you do that a 4.5" backspace wheel doesn't rub the upper control arm?
Different front hub and rotor assembly?
When 15x7 Mopar rally wheels came out Chrysler engineers said they wouldn't fit early cars. I bought a pair to test fit on my1964 Plymouth, there wasn't much room cycling through full jounce and rebound but they cleared.
For entertainment purposes I bolted late Charger 17x7 4.9 bs wheels on my 64. Strange looking.

What size tires and rims?
15”. 295/50 15’s. Think they are 8” rims. Came mounted and balanced from Summit as pictured minus the dime store trim rings. 69 Coronet. Did put a spacer on the drivers side only (thanks Kern) as the inside wall would kiss the leafs when pushed hard. Safe in heavy rain/freeway.

66 Satellite -
500 plus inches under the hood
3:73 rear

Looking for a tire that rides well, handles "OK" in the corners (as well as expected), gets a decent amount of traction on the road/street. Not looking for a bias ply or a dedicated "slick type" street tire.

Really leaning heavily towards Cooper Cobras - but just thought I would check if there is anything else I should look at.
on my '67 i have Nitto tires Z rating 225/45ZR17 FRONT 255/45ZR18 REAR. Rides and handles excellent. have 390 HP. says NT555G2 on label

actually had a clearance issue with the wheel weight contacting the upper arm. I ended up going with stick on wheel weights for the front and all is well. The 4” back space should give you more clearance to the arm, but it would be closer to the fender. Not sure if the Charger fender has more room or not, but my tire is close to the fender with my car being lowered.

Here’s a link to my build…

I am running A body spindles and disc brakes, maybe that moves things out a bit. The wheel weights would contact the control arm under certain loads. I went to stick on wheel weights and all is well.

Have coopers on my work van and my 95 bronco and love them. Will be putting them on my ssp this spring

I can add a second on these. I have them on my 427 Cobra replica and they are a real nice street tire. They are essentially the same as the Cooper Cobra but I understand they have a slightly upgraded rubber formulation. At least that is what MT technical reps have reported but they are made in the same plant. However, any advantage may just be due to a little more aggressive thread design.
