The guy is a scammer I got a message from him tonight as well with nothing in the message

Yeah - When I see those guys join, I like to **** with them. I do things like do a word filter that changes their email to I AM A SCAMMER - and let them send PMs and after 5-10 mins of them putting in work sending pms I ban them, report them to the spam service and delete them, then block their IP. Hey, I take my entertainment where I can find it.

I saw the name come up but under his name on the side it said where it says your status... I.e gold, well known etc etc. it said this.
"Don't buy anything from me I'm a scammer."
 
How does one determine if a new member is a dirtbag? What stands out enough to send up red flags?
I have read that some will respond to WTB ads claiming to have the very thing the legit member is looking for but what else?
