The old.... lets see some wheel pics - may be looking to swap out

My point was he doesn't have the original 14" X 5.5" wheels on there.
Secondly I would never throw out a good set of 15" X 7" wheels.

But you know my grandfather used to say
"There's an idiot born every minute.
... and most of them live."
Oh, I know, you're absolutely correct. My point is, back in these cars "primetime" NOBODY left those wheels on their car. In our garage, the first thing everyone did was swap them for mags. We would chuck them in the metal scrap container by the dozens.

Cragar Sparklers going on my a-body, Cragar G/Ts going on my 62 Dart.

I don't think anyone believes us... They don't seem to understand that the ONLY car with " hubcaps" was mommies car... AND if you were caught in "mommies" car you were hexed for life

Guys - I am in a bit of a conundrum.
Such issues always make my head hurt -

I know the feeling, I was the same with my van when I got it. You can't go wrong with the Mag 500's. BTW, I painted the van with the same shade of red as it was originally almond. Good Luck

I have the poor punk kid thing going on I can only afford rims for the rear

I ran body colour cop wheels with red stripe dog dish caps on my 1967 R/T for about 20years. I decided to change it up with Jeg's Sport Torque rims and redlines.

What's the differences in the torque thrusts and these. They look real similar except maybe the centers.

Both look real sharp. Thanks
I think they are Chinese knock off of the TorqueThrust wheel that Jeg's has their name put on. I have seen the same wheel on other cars with different names on the centre cap. I found a set of "R/T" stickers on E-bay that were the same size as the centre cap, so on they went. I just checked, and they are $110.00 each, with free shipping.

Here is another option. I bought these for my 1964 Polara. They look like Magnum 500's, but are actually a one piece 15"X7" aluminum rim. They are sold in Canada by Gold Leaf Automotive.

The only thing I do not like about these wheels is that the lug nut tightening surface is a long ways down the stud hole. I use a 1 3/4" long lug nut, so it does not look weird. You have to use a thin wall socket on the nut because there is not much room down the hole. An impact socket will not fit. I use the deep socket from my 3/8" set for this with an adapter to my 1/2" drive.

The Main difference is the available Backspace.
I had the torq thrust D before These on my 66 Belvedere and the they rubbing in the rear.
Because Torq thrust are only available in 15x7 3.75BS or 15x8 4.5 BS. Both was not possible with my 255/60 in the rear.

The Rocket racing are 15x7 with 4,25BS and I have now plenty room in the rear with 255/60

Also the Rocket racing have a little bit other design as the Torq thrust. More"sharper", a little bit like a Mix from older Torq thrust Design and Cragar SS.

Also the Rocket racing have a really better Quality as the Torq thrust. Better Cast, better machining, billet Aluminium Center Caps etc

Both need 60 degrees Wheel lug nuts

Here are picture from my Torq thrust before and the Rocket racing

Be different and make a statement. Wheelcovers. That will say, "I worked for this look".

I get that then.... but now I somewhat like the sleeper-ish look. Again there is enough under the hood to draw attention. But man I love the look of some of the wheel systems shown here. Looking forward to seeing some in person this summer and making a decision.

Most likely I will hold off on wheels until I put a dana under it - and possibly move the springs inboard some. Hate to drop 2k, and then need new ones next fall. But if I found a set cheap enough I could be convinced....its only money :)

Geez now that I think about it - then I may have to factor in a larger than 15 inch wheel...... my head hurts.

thanks everyone - keep the pics coming
This isnt my car tho it looks very similar - it has 16" wheels tho for you to consider
