What's everyone doing to mount the scoop to the hood. Rivets, bolts and nuts. Screw inserts etc I'm ready to bolt mine to my glass hood and was wondering what everyone did for yours.

Some come with the hardware kits to mount them. I have one from Sled City, that has the bolts molded in, so just drill the holes in hood, and fasten it, after fitting it...

Mine didn't come with a mount kit. But that's my fault for not asking the supplier.

Show some pics of the scoop flange?

I still have an original A-Body snorkel scoop I picked up at a swap meet. I was looking through a Year One catalog, and sure enough, they offered a mounting kit for it, so I just ordered it. Check them out for your need ?

Hey bearman is that a fiberglass to fiberglass assembly?

Mine has T bolts thru the flange. The front center stud has a wide plate under the hood to distribute the load.

That's what I was thinking also to put support straps under it. Thanks for the heads up.

Mine pokes thru the hood and mounts to the engine. Hence the name shaker....

Yes glass to glass.
Hi bearman then you could bolt and epoxy the two together. The killer is stress fracture and just bolting together with supports might be a better way to go. If its too rigid it might crack. So I also wonder then if a thin rubber strip between the two pieces might be a good way to eliminate any stress?

That's a good idea will try that rubber strip. They need to be a two piece from scoop to hood.

So I was out at the h.e.m.i. show and was looking at all different ways people mounted them. What got me curious was nobody puts them in the same spot. Looking at the rear of the hood and the rear of the scoop the measurements could be from one inch up to three inches. Is there a real measurements for this.

Bear, there are dimensions for them. Here's a post from back some time. If it's not in this, Larry at Sled City can get them to you...

I believe the Hemi Scoop measures about 1/8-1/4" from the rear hood contour, to the matching scoop contour...

Thanks, I would like it to look correct.
