Mystery stains on glass....How do you clean these ??

The glass has almost no scratches but there are streaks like this on the left side and on the windshield.

I have tried gasoline, thinking it was some type of oil on the glass. I've tried some auto parts store window cleaning paste and even windex....Nothing has worked so far.
Any suggestions? Aftermarket glass doesn't seem to fit as well as originals so I want to keep these windows if I can.
 
Looks like bird poop that washed down from the roof. Baking soda is king. In a spray bottle, mix two to three tablespoons of baking soda with a drop of dish soap and fill with hot water. Spray the mixture on any bird poop stain and allow it to saturate the area for a few minutes.
 
Maybe try acetone or isopropyl alcohol.
Hard to see the marks in the photo - is it the multiple thick vertical lines on the side glass, or is that reflections? If so, then very weird. Clean both sides obviously, in case it's on the inside somehow.

That thing sat under something drippy for a long time?? Like maybe a wet rusty bridge, or a maybe zinc damaged from a rotten roof with a lot of galvanized nails?? Even the roof shows the same streaks. I don't think any birds did that.
 
Looks like water and rust has stained them over the years it’s tough to remove. Bob Sawyer has posted what you need above.
 
I heard a high powered weed eater can be used to remove glass stains. Results may vary.

Lacquer thinner??

could be some kind of industrial fallout? No idea but that’s a weird one. Maybe find some good used glass.

I have a slight streak in one window, hardly noticeable. Somebody told me he used exactly that with toothpaste, and it worked. I cannot verify or authenticate that statement, though.
 
It looks like rust stains. Many products out there for removing rust stains. The first one that comes to mind is CLR and don't use STEEL wool !. you think it doesn't scratch the glass but it does. Try using steel wool on your bathroom mirror. Don't do it! Use fine ALUMINUM WOOL ,if you have to..... It's more difficult to find. But we'll worth it. You can use it on stainless steel trim and chrome bumpers as well. I soak the aluminum wool with dawn dish soap and it works wonders.
 
If anyone here wants to use ANY grade of steel wool, please use it on a piece of mirror, and then go outside
in the sunlight and see what you've done to the glass! The Cerium oxide will work just fine. Thank You!
 
I have used a product up here in canada called autosol made in germany it has worked for me with stains in glass . hopefully that staining has not etched the glass . try a least conspicious spot to do your testing .

One of the nicest metal polishes I've used! Haven't tried it on glass though, worth a try.
