Well, I can relax now
After a nearly 24 hour non stop turn and burn., Thanks to my copilot Jim K
I can relax , Its home . We rolled in about 3.30 am this morning. After a grueling 24 hours non stop round trip to Bakersfield CA from Tucson AZ . Ive come to the realization,,,,,,Im not 25 anymore

In all honesty, I wasnt really looking for another car.
But this one popped up on a facebook group I'm in. We went to Bakersfied Ca yesterday to pick it up. And I have to admit the car was a little better than I had hoped for or expected it to be.
I thought it looked pretty good,,,, and the color combo, and especially the options perked my interest.
Originally a 383 4bbl car. but now has a later model 440, column shift auto. And factory air . Which is HUGE here in southern AZ

Doesnt look like its ever had any rust repair or need any. best i can tell still retains 100% of its original interior, Vinyl top as well. I have to do some cleaning and detailing to get it where I want it to be .
But overall, Im pleased.

I'll be spending a few bucks underhood But the car was just too complete to pass up.,,,,,,, Air works with a charge. ( needs a condenser to repair. )
Odometer shows, 61k miles, and I have a feeling thats actual miles. Certicard says sold new In Oklahoma

The diecast trim on the back of it is REALLY nice for OE stuff

I'll be on the hunt for some misc pieces, but most everything I need I can make a phone call and have in a few days

Only thing sweeter would have been the original engine (at least the block) along for the ride. :thumbsup:

I am told the original engine is alive in Miss.,,,aka 1500 miles away from me

If it were vin numbered I would go after it.

the fact its a build date only thing in 67.
Im not making that trip. The current 440 in the car is supposed to be under 5000 miles since built. it will stay where it is

Nice, looks like all the hard to find 500 parts are there and in good shape
 
With the 383 badges that makes for a real sleeper. I would suggest while the AC is down, break all the connections and put in new o-rings, new drier, etc. I did this along with a new compressor seal in my 67 about 18 years ago and haven’t had to touch it since. Great looking interior in the car. Congratulations.

Car is in the garage for now.
I have to get a game plan and parts list going to make it what I want

Supposed to have a coolant leak inside the car, but is unknown if its heater core , bypass valve or or maybe even water valve ( factory air car ) , Either way the Air box is coming out for a rebuild .
There is a wet spot on the front ac condenser and I plan to order it next day or 2.

On initial inspection found out it needs some front end work so thats on the list as well.

No matter, I hope to have it whipped into shape the next month or so. BEFORE Arizona summers take hold. That way I can give the hemi car a break for a while

We think alike.
While its opened up. It will get all new O rings, new expansion valve, compressor nose seal . That stuff is cheap and to easy not to replace while its down. I already know it needs a condenser. I also plan to pressure ck the evaporator while the box is out


I am thinking I may pull all the exterior trim to strip and polish it up. It will really make the exterior of the car pop
Mostly its just time and my labor
 
I had to pull that AC box to replace a heater core years ago, it’s a pretty big job but if I can do it, any average home garage mechanic can manage. Be sure to check all the vacuum valve cans and the vacuum control switch out. If any of those are bad, that will be the time to change them out.

Curious who the original dealer is/was; Im originally from Tulsa and just wondered? :)
