Project Unicorn - 1968 Charger Restoration

You did a great job on the roof vinyl. Did my head liner by myself and will say it can be done just like vinyl top. I will say that my hand's and finger's hurt like hell the next day. Good job!!!!! Blue.

oh man you couldn’t be more right about the fingers! Partly separated my finger nail on one of my fingers. So sore the next day, I didn’t do much of anything - I just chalked it up to getting old :)

Another milestone met today on the journey to completion, brake system is now fully operational. All new pre-bent stainless brake and fuel lines from inline tube, including booster and master cylinder setup.

Amazing build, you are really doing a great job. I admire your ability to do so much of this on your own. I painted my pickup in my garage and can truely appreciate your attention to detail. Excited to see more progress.

Hey Mike, thanks a lot for the kind words, really appreciate it. Hope to have some more updates in a few weeks. Need to order more parts to continue the build.

ps your bee looks awesome!

Take care

Dash is finally all done and the new Dakota Digital RTX gauges are installed - I love them! Dash was blasted, epoxy primed, textured with 3M texture paint and SEM landau black on everything.

Working on cleaning up the original glass. Didn’t think I was going to be able to use it, but all the pieces minus the windshield are good to go. Saved a bunch of $$$ there and all this glass is original to the car with the stampings. Yay! A few light scratches but I’m okay with that.

here’s the rear window before and after and installed. Repo trim was a bitch!!! 5/16 3m butyl tape used.

Looking good!!!! I just went back thru the entire thread and will definitely say good job!

New AMD windshield installed this weekend, finished polishing all the stainless trim for the car, got all the windows installed, power windows working. Need final adjustment on the passenger side quarter window, it’s being stubborn. New shoes are on now too! Still waiting on new legendary upholstery and door cards, won’t see them until October it looks like. After that, it’ll be time to build the 440 over the winter and have it running for next spring. Had it outside for a sunbath today, first time since last fall.

Shoes:
rear: 295/15/50 on 15x10 (5.25 backspace)
front: 245/15/60 on 15x8 (3.8 backspace)
