Those v/c's are nice and tall. Time to spin up some ol' pressure.

Getting ready to put the new "bullet" in the chamber - took a few hours to clean up the garage, ended up throwing away the car cover that had been on the car since it was parked, it was full of dust.

Weird picture isn't it?

Before the engine install I bolted on this really bitchin' machined aluminum plate. It covers all the firewall holes on car with factory A/C. I saw it for sale on one of the Mopar sites and had to have it.

My brother and old friend helped me put it in - it was an epic battle but we got it done.

Update,
It's been runnin' for some time, haven't had much time to work on it. I finished mocking up the rear end (centering in wheel wells and setting pinion angle) got the spring perches welded on. I installed the Wilwood discs on the rear, pulled front calipers to clean them and install new brake hoses. packed the wheel bearings, installed the master cylinder and bled the brakes. Ordered the new driveshaft and installed it. One issue I had with the new motor was that the Pan E vac system was pulling oil out of the breather box. I took it apart and added a second layer of shielding. This fixed it -

I finished cleaning, lubing & adjusting the passenger side front & rear windows. I installed new cat whiskers & door glass division channel (I had started this project long ago but had issues with the repro division channel, I had to wait until the "new & improved repros became available) The new ones are excellent. I also installed new moisture barriers, installed a new roof rail seal, cleaned and installed the door panels and finally my custom inside door handles/arm rests from earlier in the thread. I will also be doing the drivers side at a later date.

Will you be at MATS with the car? I'm coming over on the 17th, leaving early a/m Monday so I can be at work by 1pm. Going to see my friend Walter while there, hook up with Bob [64 pro-touring, satans fury] while there too if possible.

Is that the block you got from me some years ago?
We will be there with the BIG trailer if you need anything.
We want to see the first 9 sec. Pass!!

Time for an update -
MATS was a bust, flat tire, oil leak and my Pan e Vac system did not work (or worked too good). I only got 2 1/8th mile passes in and folded it up. The only positive was a 1.42 60ft. I pulled the engine back out and it was such a pain in the *** (as was the installation) to get it out I decided I was going to do anything I could to make it easier for next time. I had interference issues with the external oil pick up line and k-member, the top transmission bell housing bolts are almost impossible to get to because of the CSI scatter shield (you cant lower the engine enough to gain the needed space to get the top bolts - if you are pulling the trans instead of the engine its not so bad. I should have done it long ago but I yanked the K-member so I can notch it. Hopefully this will allow me to lower it enough to install the top bellhousing bolts, as I do not want to drill holes in the firewall for access. Another thing I'll be doing is welding nuts to the motor mount brackets where possible so I wont need to do the double end wrench knuckle scrape/bust/pinch mumbo jumbo when tightening the thru bolts. K member out and started the modification -

Fabbed up this reinforcement bracket for the divers mount tower - I put the curve in it to give more room for the oil pickup line.

I also be-burred the whole thing as well as cut off and or rounded off all the sharp corners and edges I will also weld on some tie down tabs. Now time to get it cleaned up -

Suggest Boxing the K member = that is what we do.
Your car has been running Great!
We did good at MATS
Jon won Street Legal with Red Valiant and beat the
former Division Champ in the finals!

Progress -

Got the boxing plates bent, here is one side. You should have seen what I rigged up to bend these, it wasn't pretty but I got it done!
