Having trouble with the gap between the deck filler and the trunk lid it's to wide and we've moved as far forward as the slot will let us ,what's the best way to close the gap in ? Thanks in advance

I'll get a pic tomar only metal work thats been done is the trunk floor .

Weld metal rod along front edge of trunk lid and metal finish to extend it? Or will it take more than an additional 1/8”?

What is the fit on the other end?

Exactly.... If the panel matches near the tail lights you can't go forward any further... If the trunk lid still needs to go forward there are options....

when it gets tight in the rounded corners, thats pretty much the forward limit.......with that bondo mess on the dutchman panel, it must be a disaster underneath...... it's probably a good idea to replace it, and the new one can slide back a little, if necessary .

if you have metal work to do, bolt on the trunk lid to line up with the extensions that wrap around the tail lights, then build everything to the trunk lid, everything gets done together or you run into problems........ lots of details in this thread, especially post 20 with emphasis on the trunk lid:

just a little off the back and sides please | For B Bodies Only Classic Mopar Forum

if doing full quarters, the ends of the aftermarket dutchman (filler) panel, where it connects to the new quarters, may not fit properly. If it is a little too wide, or too narrow, or the angles are off; it will affect where the quarters will sit.......the deck lid in a fixed position will dictate where the quarters sit, then massage the dutchman to fit if necessary......and I find it pretty common for the trunk lid to be a little tighter in the rounded corners and the sides than across the front.
