After having my engine out this winter, I decided new motor mounts would be a good idea. The issue is the engine sits a tad higher than before, so my long headers that have the one tube the runs under the steering link (drivers side) is now rubbing. I was thinking about option 1: using a hammer and pipe to do some manual adjustment to the tube at the rub point, or option 2: adjusting the torsion a little to add clearance. Would option 2 even move the steering linkage?

Ding the header and move on. Other than that its more work than its worth. Besides no one is going to look under your car.

Your header will need some massaging.
Be sure to check the steering linkage through its full stroke.
Adjusting ride height/torsion is not going to change the clearance between the steering linkage and header, both remain at the same reference point of the body.
The change in angle is taken up by the tie-rods.

Dent the header. Don't know how you could possibly adjust the torsion bar for more clearance.

Guys on Engine Masters dented and mangled headers on a dyno, no or little power loss. Or find thinner mounts?

If the exhaust is unhooked, would it be possible to put a srap around the header and ratchet-strap it to tweek it enough to clear?
