Rather than build both, an engine run stand and a k frame engine, trans mobile stand for installing from underneath…….Has anyone made a mobile steel framed K frame stand that dual purposes as an engine run stand and installation stand?
Obviously the radiator/gauge panel frame would need to be removable

if so and you have some pics that would be appreciated

I planned to build one of those but been too busy. I looked at a lot of different ones but I like this one.

Excellent much appreciated Stanton

I was thinking of making one higher off the ground as I have a car hoist and to aid in the installation, probably still need to use a creeper trolley though

This is interesting and worth keeping in mind:

WARNING!

This is a warning to all that have purchased Engine Start/Test Stand plans.

DO NOT OPERATE YOUR ENGINE ON THE STAND WITH YOUR ENGINE FAN BLADE MOUNTED TO YOUR WATER PUMP.

In the event of a water pump shaft failure, SEVERE INJURY could occur.

I recently had a water pump shaft break while starting my 454 engine. The heavy steel OEM seven blade fan came off at between 700 and 1000 RPM. Fortunately the radiator absorbed most of the energy of the spinning blade and there were no injuries.

Use an electric fan mounted in front of (or behind) the radiator for cooling your engine.

That's how many of these K frame stands are. I guess they still expect you to pick the engine up with a jib hoist to pull it up into place.. which is just stupid. Mind you it sits so low you probably couldn't lower a hoist that far down to work anyhow.

This would work too - with a tailstock support

I think you could easily adapt it to run an engine on it if needed. I used it to install an engine in the bee today.

I built one like the beekeeper, but
